It bolts up but obviously you have to modify the rear of the fenders to match the bodywork on the 99 doors.
As far as my son's truck......he only started working on it again recently. Before the winter we had to pull the heads and replace a head gasket casue we were leaking slightly into the...
this is a build thread for my 99 Expedition EB that I have owned since new. I've updated this truck with 06 sheet metal, and a custom one off hood, bumper and custom headlamps. The interior of the truck has been completely redone in 2010 Ford Casmere and the seats have been changed to 06...
If your referring to the belt moldings.....they have a small clip on the end otherwise they push on. I painted mine black after properly prepping them for paint.
Here is a photo I took, you can see how glossy the moldings are.
Thanks I appreciate it. No one should be jealous though. I build cool cars and trucks as my living. I will start a thread on this truck in the appropriate section if the mods don't mind, but for now here is a link to F150Online where I have a build thread...
I'll have to check it out, thanks. Mine will be removable also. Even though my truck will rarely if ever be left unattended, an I-Pad is certainly an inviting thing for someone to steal.
I would love to answer your questions, but this would be our first install using the I-Pad. Actually we'll be installing one in my son's F150 also but either will be our first IPad install so although we have an idea of what we need, we haven't actually gotten there yet. We do have a list of...
No real updates to speak of. We've been hit with some good snow fall lately so we're pretty busy with collision work. My stuff comes last. What I'm working on now, when I have a chance is my audio system. I'm kind of going all out with the truck. I'm going to integrate an I-Pad into the dash to...
We developed a snake skin style design and then used a plotter to create in in a vinyl mask. That was the easiest way to accomplish what we needed to do. As far as fiberglass parts are concerned, it depends on the quality of the part. If we're working on a decent part we'll sand the gelcoat and...
On a vehicle that size we start at 10K. Thats price is for a basecoat/clearcoat (not Candy) color change which includes jams and underhood. Basically if were doing a color change the truck would be taken apart and repainted to the extent mine truck was. We only repaint one way here, we don't cut...
Todays paints are mostly Hi Solids so you don't need alot of coats of clear to give it that look. On show cars I generally only use 3 coats of clear. I of course wet sand then polish the paint so its flat.
Be prepared to spend some serious coin even with just doing a basecoat / clearcoat...
If your really into green, consider using a 2 stage formula. Here is a Chrysler 300 we did in Dodge Viper Snakeskin & Black. The colors were separated with a silver that we did a snakeskin pattern in. The color is striking when you see it but is much easier to repair then a 3 stage Candy color...
There is no rule for what color to use as a stripe, its really up to you. I know your leaning to a Candy paint job but honestly I would stay away from it if I were you. Besides being crazy expensive to do properly, its not at all meant for a street driven in the sun all the time vehicle. I did a...
That hood is not going to work since the grille is part of the front edge of that hood. If you look at the Cervini hood you will see that they made theirs without the integrated grille. That is the only style that will work on the 03-06 Expos.
If your looking for paint ideas, here is what I did to my truck. The truck has been repainted with a Lexus pearl white and the tu-tone is done in a Lexus grey pearl. The two colors are separated with a burgundy stripe.
Hard to see in this photo though. I'm still in the build process on the...
There aren't many hoods for the 03-06 models, and the Expedition hoods do not interchange with the F150's.
Cervinis has a nice design that they made for their F150 but its looks to me that it will work on an Expedition
I would have bought that one but I wanted a hood that nobody...
Yes the burgundy parts in the photo were all sanded smooth, primed a few times, sanded again then painted and cleared. The rest of the dash panel was carefully prepped and lightly primed so not to smooth it out to much. I didn't want the look of a fully smoothed and painted dash.
Ok so I've been busy trying to get the rears to work in the truck. Basically what I did was fabricate my own mount platform to which I will bolt the seats to. Since I'm eliminating the 3rd row seating in order to build a custom sub enclosure, I no longer need the seats to fold. So basically...
