Appreciate the feedback guys. I guess it's just me. I'd be embarrassed to charge an hour to drain and refill. $10? Fine, hand over the unused oil then. I'll take some of the blame as I didn't look at the invoice for a couple days. Time for this old fart to invest in a creeper and get off the...
Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture or am I missing something?
(A) all good
(B) that's why we do our own work, deal with it
(C) go ask for an explanation just to hear it
Just the fuel pump relay that gets fried on most all of them. Blend door in the rear. It spit out a spark plug years ago. I guess I got one of the good ones.
It's my daughter's truck and I've never laid eyes on it and am also ignorant about the 3.5. I'll have to get up to speed but appears to be normal for this year.
Very much appreciate the reply!
2017 with just under 110K. While stopped and idling sometimes the engine revs up for a minute or two then comes back down. Hot days with AC on... What is kicking on?
My '03 with 260K will do it sometimes as you accelerate and calm down once you get to 45 or 50 MPH. Again, hot days with AC blasting.
It's a Delphi rated for 58lbs. I would think I could smell fuel if something was leaking. Ran fine for 5 months. Everything else checks out fine. I'll have to see if any fuel has been leaking when I drop the tank. Thanks for the reply.
So I changed the fuel filter and then put a gauge on the rail...36lbs. The pump is failing obviously. It's a pretty straight forward install but can you think of anything I could have done wrong to make it fail after only 5 months? This will be the last time I stray from Motorcraft parts that's...
He said he wasn't getting 55 but I need to see him Monday morning as I couldn't get there before he closed. I may go borrow a tester tomorrow and see what I get.
I have an '03 5.4. I had to repair the relay in the fuse box but before that the pump was replaced, bad job of troubleshooting for sure. I now have a lean condition and mechanic says he's only getting 38lbs at the rail. The pump has been in since January working just fine. Problems started about...
Does any one know what the voltage should be for the O2's according to a scan tool at idle? Trying to track down a PO171 code. If I spray into a vacuum line they both max out which should mean they're working. On the scan tool they both jump all over the place...should they read a steady #?
More than likely it's the same as an '03 in which case you have to take the whole fill hose assembly loose which will allow you to move it forward enough to make the connection.
