thanks for the clarification look forward to hearing how it goes. if its not too much to ask think you could post up some before and after pics from the front of the truck to see the visual effect the spacers have versus a measurement?
hey guys,
i know this is a little late to jump on the thread but i'm interested in buying some spacers for my 03 xlt. i know skyjumper said he has 1" and freeway has .5" how do you guys like the respective sizes? have you run into any problems with them other than getting appropriate sized lugs...
I appreciate the input, not gonna lie I didn't look into the box design much just ordered a premade one do you have any sort of suggestions for better dimensions? I definitely like the lows and from the looks of your set up you do too haha that 18" looks beast
I thought about goin all black but I like the chrome / stainless steel accents thats just me though and in PA its already illegal to tint beyond like 80% so I'm pushin it pretty hard with the 15% on my sides/back without hittin the windshield as well. I will admit I need to redo my tails since...
thanks dr3w +JTKustoms routing the platform definitely took some time but the whole project was pretty extensive haha definitely worth it in the end though waiting for Kicker to send me back a brand new amp under warranty right now I'll try and post a video of them in action when I get it
I like mine just got a cheap stainless steel one off ebay no drilling needed to mount it as it bolts to the factory tow hook location (moved them to the rear) and put some nasty KC's on it. Looks pretty sweet but as everyone else has said it doesn't make your rig indestructible the only time...
+1 I have same model/year and I used the Ford Motocraft not much of a price difference between them and others plus you don't have to run the risk of the non-factory ones being threaded wrong which will blow them out
very nice system for $200 i used to have the 12" cvr's with a set of 12" JBL's still usin the same head unit too you should murder out that expy!!! check out my profile pics haha
thanks callee I figured i'd try to match the size of the expy to the size of my subs... extremely excessive haha
treycool-- way more than i'd like to admit haha the subs are gonna run you about $300 apeice, the amp is gonna be about $800, the alternator was $400, the two Kenetik batteries were...
I painted my own get a couple cans of rustoleum primer color and clear at home depot and you can get it done pretty cheap. Just remove em and rough em up with sand paper. The key is keeping a steady stream and not getting drips but if you do thats what more sand paper is for. Also used the same...
haha thanks man I appreciate it and ya they thunder my mirrors are merely decorative at this point with the amount of vibration they have. I'd strongly recommend the L7 platform though if you have enough to drop on it there's really no comparison to the volume I can put out except for the kicker...
hey everyone its been a while but ive been working constantly on my system in the 03' and i gotta say its come out pretty nice. ive been messing around with different sub-woofer and amp combinations for a while but i think i finally found one that matches the aggressive look of my expy not to...
welcome aboard I had the same issue with the door ajar thing and couldn't come up with a fix even after I isolated the doors with the issue and replaced the door lock actuators on them so I ended up just grounding the wire responsible. bad news is the lights don't come on when I open those doors...
oh man that was painful to watch haha the expedition is a tank but you should never go into something that intense completely stock and expect to make it through ok
I agree with checking the COP's I've gotten that feeling before too when two of mine went bad where you can tell you're not getting the power you should be. Another worth while general maintenance thing to do while your in there is check the plugs themselves when I had to dig through mine I...
I have an 03 XLT with the magnaflow performance catback kit and I love it. Not too loud and still gives you better performance while being relatively cheap I can't remember the exact figure but I got mine for under $350. Plus the stainless steel exhaust tip with the magnaflow performance exhaust...
your system idea sounds sick panda as far as the ports go my last system i had one of my boxes port pointed directly towards the trunk hatch and it definitely made the car shake. im in the process of a complete system overhaul now though where im tearing up everything including my 3rd row of...
thanks bhsoulja i took your advice and just went with the 87 tune after i decided i dont really want to mess with the shift points and firmness untill i learn a little more about the effects it will have on my expy and i have a decent way to track which combo has the best gains. i did notice a...
so i just bought this superchips cortex 1950 programer for my 03 xlt 5.4L and i was wondering if any of you have the same set up in your rig and if so have you tried adjusting the shift points and shift firmness levels? i do plan on running the performance tune when i refuel with 91+ octane but...
i put the truxxx 3/2 lift and level kit in my 03 xlt and was pretty happy with the results although the install was kinda a pain as should be expected. as for other brands i dont really know how they stack up against the truxxx kit the deciding factor for me was it seemed to be the largest...
