    2010 Expedition/AC High Side Fluctuation

I just took another look at my issue. I thought one fan was on constantly while the AC was on initially but when I checked again today it wasn't. Both fans will kick on for about 10 to 15 seconds to cool the condenser and radiator. That's when the high side pressure will drop to 170. After the...

    2010 Expedition/AC High Side Fluctuation

Is the AC High Side supposed to drop when the high speed fan kicks on? It goes from 170 or so to about 370 then the high speed fan kicks on then goes back down to 170. The low side stays steady at 40 no matter what. The AC is cold the whole time but just checking to make sure this is normal.For...

    Not so Good Vibrations

Yeah definitely not fun to do on your back. It caused quite of bit of damage in my situation so now I check it more often to make sure it's not getting to that point. I changed the oil a few days ago and I felt a little play in it so now it's on my radar but there's no vibration so probably not...

    2003 overheating?

It's on the driver side head at the front. If you look just under the intake manifold, you can see it and put your hands on it. I tried removing it with the intake on but it wasn't happening with my large hands.

    Not so Good Vibrations

Did you check your front driveshaft u joints? I had the same vibration at the same speeds with my 03 5.4 until one night my wife was driving and the u joint broke when the transmission downshifted going up a steep hill. That driveshaft did some damage to the fuel line, heat shields, transfer...

    2003 overheating?

My 03 5.4 Expedition would overheat that way from time to time before I changed the cylinder head temperature sensor. It's located under the intake so you'll have to remove it. I haven't had that issue in 3 years since replacing it. I know it seems crazy a sensor can make the vehicle overheat...

    Front left wheel humming

Are you guys jacking the vehicle up and checking top to bottom wobble? It's been times where it seems to be one side creating the noise but it's actually the other side. Might as well check the back also. If affordable it's always best to replace wheel hub assemblies in pairs because the other...

To service the transmission, or not service the transmission? That is the question.

If you're going to change the fluid and filter in a 6R80, I suggest changing the wiring harness connector sleeve while you're in there. I was one of the guys thinking I had a unicorn and it failed right before 150K miles (2010 Expedition). I changed the filter and OEM Motorcraft fluid and it...

P0171 & P0174 and Service Engine Soon Light

I've had the intake manifold off of my 03 5.4 a couple of times now. Not a bad job just time consuming getting things out of the way for clearance. The first time I had to replace the leaking Dorman Intake Manifold that someone put on there at some point before I bought it. Not sure if it was...

    Swollen Lug Nuts

This was the result of one of my wheels getting stuck on. It was the very last wheel and lug to get off when swapping wheels. I had a problem with a few lugs on a couple wheels but managed to get them off. I ended up taking it to a tire shop and they threw the kitchen sink at it too. Ended up...

    Coil Spring Perches/Seats

Does anyone know where to get front and back spring perches from? New or used doesn't matter. I need them for a 2nd Gen but didn't know if the 3rd Gen parts would work. If you've replaced complete assemblies and have old shocks laying around with them, I'll gladly take the perches off your hands.

    Delete Heater Hose Quick Disconnect?

I ended up just getting a worm clamp on there with 5/8 hose. The quick disconnect I got from Autozone was too small so I just made it cheap and simple.

    Delete Heater Hose Quick Disconnect?

Are you guys replacing the quick disconnect fitting for your heater hoses or deleting them with hose and clamp? If I could find the OEM hose with the quick disconnect I would go that route but Rockauto and other parts stores just have the quick disconnect by itself.

    Who has a Magnaflow catback?

Have it on my 03 5.4. I installed the Catalytic Converter system with the straight through muffler. It doesn't get any louder with age if you ask me. It's been about 3 years or so. I'm not fond of straight through mufflers now. I installed a custom flowmaster exhaust on my 2010 and it has a way...

    Brake Pedal Sinking to floor

Old hydraulic brake hoses can cause a soft pedal too. If you haven't replaced those, it's worth a shot. I have an 03 too and it's about time for me to change mines. A little mushy also.

    Expedition photo thread.

2010 Expedition XLT. I also removed the roof rack a year ago as I don't like its look compared to the lower profile my 2nd gen Expedition has. Plus I would never put anything up there anyways.

What did you do to the expy today

Uploaded a couple of videos onto YouTube for ya. My 2010 with the Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 3 inch in/out. 3 inches from the Y and stepped down to 2 1/2 after the muffler because the shop was complaining about the difficulty of 3 inches by the spare tire. You may need earphones because my phone's...

Is it worth it to install a remote starter in the 3rd gen models?

For the colder days in Alaska it's at least 25 minutes. I use it when it's not cold also for about 3 to 5 minutes to let the oil circulate, let all the sensors and valves operate, make sure no check engine light suddenly pop up and to bring the idle down.

Is it worth it to install a remote starter in the 3rd gen models?

4 It is harmful to the engine - it is best for the engine to be in motion as quickly as possible after starting the engine to ensure the best lubrication. I hope you are joking about this one lol. You do not want to go revving a cold engine. There is an operating temp for a reason. There are...

What did you do to the expy today

Wiper linkage assembly not as bad of a job as it looks. Got it done fairly quickly. Last thing you need to happen when it's snowing or raining heavily. Previous owner zip tied the damn thing together to pass the repair on to me.
