Any idea what this is called?
Thanks! I sent these photos to the Ford Dealer who said it was an "intake connector". They want $66 for it including the sensor. Apparently Ford does not sell it without the sensor that I don't need. Does anyone know if this can be plugged and abandoned?- papa t

Any idea what this is called?
After removing, cleaning, and reinstalling the throttle body on my 5.4L I started it up and noticed a leak coming from a part mounted on the intake directly behind the alternator (see attached photos). A small hose connects to it and then to the throttle body. Does anyone know what it's called...- papa t

Wiring diagram for the EATC and Blend Door Actuator
Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing the wire colors and where they go for the EATC and blend door actuator on a 99 EB 5.4? I'm trying to troubleshoot why my new actuator won't work. I tested it with a 9v battery and the motor runs. this is driving me nuts. I know it has to be something...- papa t

New Blend door actuator not working
Does anyone know what the voltage at the EATC head unit and at the actuator should be? Also, the back of the head unit has two wire harnesses. I'm presuming that one is the power and other connections to the unit and the other is the connections out of the unit. Am I close to being right? Any...- papa t

New Blend door actuator not working
I monitored the actuator to see if the axil moved at all over time. Nothing happened. I've got continuity of the wires to the head unit but only .64 volts at the actuator. It does fluctuate when the engine is running and the controls are adjusted, but not by much. Checking the power at the EATC...- papa t

Here's one for ya...
The rubber boot on my PCV valve is vibrating loudly when the engine idles. The vacuum is pulling so hard that it's pinching the boot. This is a 5.4l engine. I replaced the valve and nothing changed. I must be honest that I'm not even sure what the PCV valve actually does, but it is clearly...- papa t

Thanks for the suggestion. I managed to push the heater hoses back and to the left and tie them there to get access. I also removed the fuel rail, but in hindsight it probably wasn't necessary. I used a single universal and some extensions but a second universal would have been very helpful. I...- papa t

This @#!~* #4 cylinder!!!
I've got a 99 EB 5.4. How do you guys access the #4 cylinder? I'm trying to change the coils and plugs and I'm going crazy trying to get at it. The hoses have funky clamps that I can't figure out how to remove. What am I missing here? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.- papa t
