gas mileage
I think we are comparing apples and oranges here. At least one poster has a 4x2. Some have a 4x4. It makes quite a difference with a 4x2. Less running gear to drag around. 13 around town for my 4x4 5.4L 2000. 15~16 on the road.- schmeg

v10 swap into 2000 Eddie Bauer
5.4 I've done lots of Bowtie stuff, and if it were mine, I would pull the motor down, go through the whole thing, go first over on the bores, and put on a set of Twisted Wedge heads and be done with it. IMO.- schmeg

Ford Design Engineers SUCK!!!!
Bad luck I belong to a Harley forum, 2 snowmobile forums, and a pellet stove forum. They all have one thing in common. There are some on each one that have a miriad of problems for one reason or another. Just sayin,,,,,,as I knock on wood. PS: yes, there is no replacement for preventative...- schmeg

Door Thanks, that makes sense. Never thought of that. I think I will have my body guy tackle it. I don't want to screw it up any worse than it is. But on the other hand, it does have the keyless entry feature with keypad. It might have gotten broken into, or someone just plain forgot the code...- schmeg

Expo problems Wow! Sounds like a bad deal. I can't believe you ran into to lemons. I just had a 2000 totaled out on me. It had 195000 trouble free miles on it. It was getting skin cancer. I just bought a 2000 with 79000 on it. I just hope it works out as good as the first one.- schmeg

Noob from Maine here
Hello all. Just joined the forum. I also just picked up my second Expo. (first one got wiped out by an out of control driver). It's a 2000 XLT 4x4 with 79000 miles on it. Bone stock and totally mint. I'll post some full size pics when I get the chance. My avatar doesn't do it justice.- schmeg
