Weird Idle issue...
Okay... here is the patient 04 expy 4.6L NO Codes. when engine is warm the idle surges. Roof Racks for 04 expy.
Anyone have a pair of crossbeams for an 04 they want to get rid of? Dealership wants over $400 for a pair and the junk yards are well over $300. Planning a trip for August and the cargo carrier I want to mount needs the crossbeams. TIA Matt- buildingdoc

Auto headlights on... milage and stereo displays off.
So got the expy washed (04 4.6L). Got in everything normal... went straight to drop another $100 in gas and when the auto headlights came on the milage/trip/direction/outside temp all dim and the stereo display goes out, but the sound on the stereo is still on sound wise and I can change volume...- buildingdoc

Random idle... goes from 600-800 every second
Okay.. so here are the conditions. 2004 Expy 4.6. Engine warm either P or any gear. engine surges to 800... sometimes more, then "relaxes" back to about 600 rpm. when it does maintain a smooth idle about 40% of the time I get a humming/fog horn noise. what I have done. Checked and...- buildingdoc

It will start... but i have to peddle the throttle to keep it on...

engine noise... thunking or deisel type noise
so I have an 04 expy 4.6. between 1200-1800 rpm the engine sounds like it is straining and there is a thunking after the engine is up to temp. in all my searching i have found that it may be the cam phasers. but upon further searching I have found that I dont think i have cam phasers.... I have been searching everywhere for a decently priced hood. Someone didnt like my stock look and decided to hit my front end while parked in a parking lot... no note or anything.
