Shameless bump ... lagging by like a thousand votes, but hoping to get onto the second page for some visibility. Thanks!!

Stop By and Vote for My 78 Cherokee at Cabela's!!

I have to say that the engine itself is bulletproof. AMC made their engine blocks with the highest nickel content ever in a production block, resulting in super tough cylinder walls. I have 230,000 miles on this one and it doesn't burn oil. It leaks plenty, but none of it is going through the...

New Member - Lifting my 2000 Expy - Hunting Lease

If you're really trying to get 3-4 additional inches of axle clearance, you're going to need tires 6-8" larger in diameter than what you already have. Tire size increase is the only thing that will lift the diff further off the ground. Then size your lift required accordingly. I'm sure 37's are...

F150 Grill - Will it fit same year Expy?

I would think if you could get the part number you should be able to check that with the manufacturer.

    RIP Steve Jobs

If it does, BUY! It will come back in pretty short order and you can sell it back.

    RIP Steve Jobs

I hope the company is able to continue to flourish without him. The company nearly failed the first time he left, I only hope they've learned how to NOT let that happen in the future. He knew what we needed before we even knew it was possible. Amazing.

    Headlight Fog

A comparison I did a couple years ago - there are many more options now, but maybe this will help. http://www.flickr.com/photos/texastams/4020845472/in/set-72157622606745664

Happy to hear everyone is safe and sound. Sorry about the damage and ordeal - some folks are just morons.

    Gotts Mod

I'm new here too and am just learning about this, so bear with me. As I gather, the air inlet from the fender(?) is oval shaped, and the stock pipe is quite restrictive to getting good airflow to the filter. The Gotts-mod basically takes a piece of 3" i.d. PVC and "shapes" the outside diameter...

    New Idea----need help

Definitely love the idea of a "what hits and what fits" kind of section - I was just looking for that over the weekend when I came upon this thread. Maybe it's a ways down the list or timeline, but consider some sort of organization for the events section. Over on IFSJA.org (full size Jeeps)...

Royal Purple manufactures a substantial line of oil and lube products that are really excellent ... and purple. http://royalpurple.com/

    Oil and Oil Filters

I prefer Mobil 1 and the Mobil 1 filter. Wix and Napa Gold are also good filters, but never Fram.

    Falken Rocky Mountain ATS

I'm setting up my son's Grand Cherokee, and these are the tires that will be going on. Great tread, great reviews, super price. Thanks for the review - it just kind of sealed the deal!

    Best "No Dust" Brake Pads

I have had great success on our Jeeps with the Wagner Thermoquiet pads, and O'Reilly has them with a lifetime warranty (maybe other stores as well). Haven't had to change to brakes on the Expy yet, but that's what I'll be using.

Stalls When Shifting Into Reverse - Transmission Going?

Rebecca, I'll qualify my input by immediately by saying that I've had my Expedition for exactly 5 days ... and know next to nothing about Ford transmissions and such. But, we had a similar symptom on our 93 Grand Cherokee and it turned out to be the IAC (Idle Air Control) unit. The old one was...

Why doesnt the expedition get the respect?

Many have touched on the underlying theme here - it all depends on what you want to do or where you want to take it. I've been on many shelf roads in the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado, and there is no way I would attempt half of them with the Expy. Not because they're challenging or...
