I have to say that the engine itself is bulletproof. AMC made their engine blocks with the highest nickel content ever in a production block, resulting in super tough cylinder walls. I have 230,000 miles on this one and it doesn't burn oil. It leaks plenty, but none of it is going through the...- turtlejoe

New Member - Lifting my 2000 Expy - Hunting Lease
If you're really trying to get 3-4 additional inches of axle clearance, you're going to need tires 6-8" larger in diameter than what you already have. Tire size increase is the only thing that will lift the diff further off the ground. Then size your lift required accordingly. I'm sure 37's are...- turtlejoe

Gotts Mod
I'm new here too and am just learning about this, so bear with me. As I gather, the air inlet from the fender(?) is oval shaped, and the stock pipe is quite restrictive to getting good airflow to the filter. The Gotts-mod basically takes a piece of 3" i.d. New Idea----need help

Oil and Oil Filters
I prefer Mobil 1 and the Mobil 1 filter. Wix and Napa Gold are also good filters, but never Fram.- turtlejoe

Best "No Dust" Brake Pads
I have had great success on our Jeeps with the Wagner Thermoquiet pads, and O'Reilly has them with a lifetime warranty (maybe other stores as well). Haven't had to change to brakes on the Expy yet, but that's what I'll be using.- turtlejoe

Stalls When Shifting Into Reverse - Transmission Going?
Rebecca, I'll qualify my input by immediately by saying that I've had my Expedition for exactly 5 days ... and know next to nothing about Ford transmissions and such. Why doesnt the expedition get the respect?
Many have touched on the underlying theme here - it all depends on what you want to do or where you want to take it.
