Pulsing hesitant shuddering with slight acceleration

Spark plugs… sometimes one lasts 8,000 miles and some go 80,000+… with the platinum plugs, replace around 30,000 miles for best performance and be sure to stick with motorcraft plugs…

Dash lights--ABS, Stability and Parking Brake

Look for this on your driver side. The pcv inlet to the intake. You can see the bare wires at the top of it in my photo. These were making contact after the wire shielding disintegrated. That was tripping my abs traction control

Dash lights--ABS, Stability and Parking Brake

Look for fuse that covers abs logic , in my model it was #77. That was popping causing my problem. Then go on to wheel sensor.

Dash lights--ABS, Stability and Parking Brake

I had this on my wife’s 2007 Expy. The fuse for the abs module is popping. I found that the wire insulation had disintegrated on a pcv heater tube that warms the oil vapor as it goes back into the intake. This part seems to be on back order from ford. I had to wrap the wire in electrical tape...

What tires look good on the Expedition?

I’ve had great experience with Michelin LTX Defenders and just got Falken WildPeak HT 02 that have a similar tread pattern as the Michelin but have some rugged look on the sidewalls. These are in P265/70r18 size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Weird symptoms while driving at low RPM.

Check spark plugs. Replace if over 60k on them. It’s common for an engine miss to feel like transmission. Other connected issue could be a coil pack. I found that using a code reader that can read the mode6 memory in the Fords is helpful. It keeps track of problems that haven’t reached code...

    Want to monitor trans temp

I forgot to mention mine is a 2007 Expy Eddie Bauer. I thought I had more photos of the gauge too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Want to monitor trans temp

I use a scan gauge 2 to monitor the trans temp. It plugs into the obd2 port and can provide you with other cool information as well. It’s the “Tft” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Tires

I got a fair deal on some Falken WildPeak HT. 02 tires on my wife’s Expy. They have really similar tread to the Michelin LTX defenders, have a 700 tread wear, A traction, B temperature rating. They have that aggressive looking side tread pattern but the quiet and smoothness of a highway tire. So...

Swapped out front struts, not bad

I’m curious how you like the Detroit axle struts? I’ve got 152k on the wife’s Expy and am considering doing that or the rancho quick lift sets. Did it level it out any? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Changed spark plugs in the 2007 5.4 today (140k miles).

You definitely got the lifetime plus 50% on those. Great work and cheers for successful maintenance accomplishment. I only broke one when I did them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What is your average MPG?

Another fun site to browse is Fuelly.com I record my miles there. You can search a lot of model years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Engine light

It’s a good chance it’s the spark plugs. Otherwise it could be a coil pack. What code reader are you using? I think you got great mileage out of the spark plugs, get new ford motor craft ones and she may feel like a new truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dealer wouldn't rotate my tires!! Faulty lug nuts??

The deformation also occurs with the use of air impact tools when tire service occurs. I worked at ford and couldn’t get mine covered even though I had every service documented for 45,000 miles at the dealer. I went with dorman brand on amazon for a replacement and have been pretty happy with...

2007 Expedition Limited 230,000 mile report

Nice report. I’m 90,000 miles behind you with my 2007 Expedition at 139,xxx miles. I hope mine is as trouble free as yours. I do the oil every 5k miles or so but it’s run in the city most of the time here in California. My avg mpg is 14 overall. We have gotten as good as 23 and as low as 11 mpg...

    V8 idle fuel efficiency??

Ah, this is where that thread went. So I was able to get into wife's Expy and take an updated picture. The GPH or gallons per hour is in the lower right of the scan gauge display. It was 72f outside according to the Expy climate display. So just under the 7 tenths of a gallon an hour. It's kinda...

idling for A/C - approximate gallons/hour fuel useage?

My wife wanted to hurry up and go but you can see in the lower right hand corner of the scan gauge 2, is GPH or gallons per hour. I included the outside temp reading display. So this is a guesstimate of use depending on outside climate conditions and how that would effect the gallons per hour...

    V8 idle fuel efficiency??

A scan Gauge 2 is really useful... I recommend one for bored car owners of many types of vehicles... I did not get a chance to steal a look at my wife's Expy but here is a photo from 20k miles ago...
