    Automatic Oil Change Indicator

Don't rely on the light...continue to go old school...nothing beats pen and paper with date and mileage on it. At least that's what I continue to do. Yours came with semi-syn from the factory and thus intervals were already pushed out beyond 3000mi. I'm never gonna be one to tell you you...

    Really stiff steering question

Might have the rack going bad. I experienced something similar in my 08 right after picking it up new. When I say stiff...I mean you would have to wrestle the wheel to get it to turn. Then after things warmed up, everything acted normal. Dealer determined rack and pinion was bad from...

    rear suspension / lift kit

Do you happen to have the air suspension out back? Might have a leaky air bag. If not, our trucks come with a slight lean front to back(rake), so if you're the opposite, there's something going on with either the shocks or the coils. The 3/2 lift takes the factory rake out of our trucks...

    Another dreaded Oil question.

M1 gets my vote and goes into everything I own. Over the past 10 yrs, I've had multiple Fords from new and they all received M1 at 3000mi and then I stretched interals to 6-7000 miles. Can't beat autozone when the special comes around, 5.25 qt jug and M1 extended performance filter...$35

    Drivers Seat Problem

Sounds like "easy entry" somehow turned off. Go through the message center using the 3 buttons on the center console and make sure it's not set "off". If its still not working and set "on", then cycle the seat to the full back position and keep holding the back adjustment until you feel the...

    New Tires

Biggest question, what rim are you gonna run? 33.8x11.2 for the 285 I'd run on stock rim. 33.8x12 for the 305 I'd put on something aftermarket with correct back spacing. Speaking from experience, 33.3x11.6(295/70/17) works just fine on factory wheel. Love my Nitto's.

    Lift and tire purchase

I'm sure it would, just don't know if that extra .5 is gonna make that much of a difference. You originally only wanted 33's unless that plan changed. Cali lean=not my cup of tea...towing a 6000lb boat gets my nose in the air just enough, don't need to set it up that way as a daily driver. I...

    Lift and tire purchase

Sounds about right, your limiting factor is 2wd...for 4wd vehicles, you can squeeze 35's in the wells. Even with having 4wd, I stayed in the 33" range(295/70/17). As far as which kit, they're all pretty much the same...however when you say Truxxx 3in, it's really a 3/2(if you get the right...

    3rd Gen Lifting Q's

NC beaches, TX ranch roads, and some farm fields in PA....not a problem for mine. Put about 35,000 on the lift, no issues. I did splurge for the new caster/camber keys at the time of alignment, did it help...dunno, but gave me peace of mind knowing there's a little more adjustability in the...

Mpg display on dash at 11.8 - 12 mpg is this normal?

The tuner by itself will give you gains, not necessary to do more mods. However, any time the motor can breath better and expell better, the more efficient she'll run. That's why I combo'ed everything. Most of the tuners on the market carry "canned" tunes for the general public. Normally...

Mpg display on dash at 11.8 - 12 mpg is this normal?

Hard to tell, modification on mine began at 200 miles off the lot. First I pulled the exhaust, then came the intake, then the programmer all in quick succession. With those 3 things and running stock suspension and tires, I saw as much as 22mpg while on road trips. Then I added the lift and...

Mpg display on dash at 11.8 - 12 mpg is this normal?

The default setting on the truck is ON the minute you start up. Manually pushing the button disables O/D and you get the yellow light/icon on the dash telling you it's off. Leave it ON, no lights on the dash and you'll see some improvement. The only time I ever run around with it OFF is when...

Mpg display on dash at 11.8 - 12 mpg is this normal?

Sounds about right to me. Running surface streets, I rarely see anything better and I'm heavy on the throttle. Truth be told, I like to hear the exhaust and intake sing from light to light. Now, if I baby it in the city, I might see 13.something, but it seems I'm always in a hurry. Out on the...

New trailer, I think I may need to upgrade

Keep her...only 3-4 times a year as a mule, not gonna hurt anything. You're so close on the capacities and have already invested in the WD hitch, no sense taking on a payment! You said you're experienced RVers, so you already know what to look for and sound like you have approached the first...
