    Thanks so much for the reply. The PDF helped me locate fuse #1. #1 fuse is good which is strange to me as the turn signals do not work either. Hazards do work though. I'm stumped. Any other advice?

    Is this too much rust? Need advice before buying.

    Check the radiator support, usually rusts out where it mounts to the frame. I did on our 2005 live in nj. also!! love the salt in the winter I agree. My 2000's radiator support was totally rusted out. Heck, the whole thing was rusting out. I finally had to send her to the junkyard.

    Wow, I'm surprised at the low mileage that are being posted. I drive about 75% highway, 25% city. My 2000 5.4 got 13.5-14 mpg combined. My 1997 5.4 gets over 14 mpg combined. It never seems to go below 14 mpg and I check a lot. Why it gets better mpg than the 2000 is a mystery to me as...

    Well, I f***ed up. Getting the new worm gear onto the motor's shaft is near impossible. It's just too tight. In the process, one of the gauge cluster ribbon cables pulled out. Chit! I'm still going to try to get that damn worm gear onto the motor shaft and pray I can get that ribbon...

    Well, I got the gauge cluster out and apart. Sure enough, that plastic worm gear is in two pieces. So I ordered a new plastic worm gear, $30.32 shipped to me. Freakin' piece of plastic smaller than a penny cost over $30!!!

    $4,000 is a LOT. $2,000 seems reasonable but not be worth doing as these trucks are getting up there in years. How many miles does she have? If she has low miles and you want to keep her for awhile, go for it.

    I would sure fix it before it gets worse. My 2000 started out like that and now she rests in a junkyard. My 1997's body is still rust free but I expect that to change as the Iowa winters can be bad and the road crews salt and brine the roads like crazy. Hell, they already have done that...

    I totally agree. Your rust is nothing to worry about. If you saw my 2000 Expedition you would have a heart attack. Mine is rusted so bad it's going to go to car heaven soon.

    LOL This time is different than all the previous leaks. This time it will not stop leaking. Kid you not, I would guess I have two quarts on the floor. Told my TRUSTED mechanic he'll have to tow it this time as I'm not driving it the 30 to 40 miles to get it to him. I just don't understand...

    These pictures are from the passenger side. This leak is different from all the times before as the previous leaks puked a pint to a quart and then stopped leaking. This time I noticed it is still leaking, well over a quart on the garage floor.

    That front end is sharp and I have to ask, are those corner driving lights stock? I'm thinking not as I seen some driving lights before on a 1st Gen Expedition and their's were flat.
