Time to revive this thread. After almost a year, Ford has not provided any solution to the problem we are having. When we first start our expedition in the morning, we experience the issue. It happens intermittently (not on every cold start), and so is hard to reproduce reliably.
My wife...
Hey guys,
My wife filled up the expedition today and the gauge never responded. It is still reading empty and the cluster center display shows 12 miles to empty. I drove it to the gas station to make sure it was full. It took 0.3 gallons and then clicked off. Any easy ways to reset the gas...
Hey guys my 2011 has a class 4 hitch but only has a 4 pin trailer connector. It does appear to have the connection for the trailer brake controller but doesn't have a 7 pin connector in the back. I'm wondering if the wiring is there for the 7 pin in the rear? Maybe I just need to add in the...
I'd go with whatever option is going to be least stinky. If you get some nasty ant spray in your upholstery your Expy is going to smell like that forever.
Well you can probably fit a bigger tire on your factory rims but the question is will it rub or not? Even if you are planning on putting on a lift, the offset of factory wheels won't often let you go with a much wider tire. I went down to Discount Tire here in NM and they were willing to try...
So I threw some HID's in the stock headlight housings last night. I used this kit from retrofit source which I had originally bought for the Raptor to replace the HIDs that are in it now. I made the mistake of buying DDM tuning crap which I can assure you is the cheapest Chinese HID set you can...
That one looks really nice. You can find them for $350 too which is much cheaper than the Homelink one I previously posted. Homelink is nice but not $450 nice.
I'm thinking about doing the rear view camera on mine. Here is what I was looking at. Adds Homelink and keeps the autodimming feature too.
Auto-Dimming Rear Camera Display Mirror system with 3.3-inches Monitor,Homelink and Compass for GM (non-OnStar models),Ford,Chrysler & Toyota - Includes...
Its pretty straight forward. I'd use whatever Ford recommends for your vehicle. Usually 5w-20. Filter is right on the front of the engine. It has a little ramp below it to keep the oil from dripping onto the front cross member.
Well I've seen a lot of posts on the Raptor Forum from guys that have had those. They seem to be nothing but trouble. Supposedly they don't have a very good cutoff either which is the whole point of going with projectors. Maybe somebody that has the ebay ones can chime in and/or post some light...
I've got to do something to help the lights. They are dim on my 2011. I threw HID's straight in my 2012 F150 and they have a decent cutoff for reflector housings. I've seen this Projector/Reflector HID debate a whole lot on different forums. It gets pretty heated :-/
Retrofitting projectors...
So I took the Expedition in to the local Ford dealer today. They said it is just taking a little time to build up vacuum in the brake booster. If you start it up and rev the engine up to 2000 rpm or so it builds up vacuum and the brakes work just fine. I don't know. Seems kinda gay. I don't have...
Ok thanks for the help. I have a Mity-vac so I'll try to bleed the brakes. Even if it is air in the lines, I'll take it in for warranty diagnosis of the master and booster. Something must be leaking air in for it to get air in the lines with only 15,000 miles on it.
Hey Guys,
I recently purchased a 2011 Expedition with about 15000 miles. The brakes are horrible, especially after it has been sitting over night. My wife was backing out of the driveway (which is slightly sloped towards the road). She realized a car was coming and pushed the brake pedal to...
Hey Guys. Just bought a Red 2011 XL for my wife. Really excited for our new SUV. I take it this must be one of Shaggy's forums... I'm pretty active over on FordRaptorForum too.
