If you're dead set on using the tach connection, you can get it at the uncommon wire color on an injector. The common wire is ground. If you do not connect a tach wire, you can set the unit for voltage check which means it'll watch for the voltage to rise from ~12v to 14v.
If you don't have a...
Been gone for awhile... Visiting every now and then. Modifying this truck has taken a backseat to my A4 and paying my debt down.
Since the last update TRS has replaced my ballasts again with yet another new model due to cold weather performance issues. I've not yet installed them but it is on...
The increase you are seeing in mileage is probably due to the lack of ethanol in your fuel. I consistently saw 1-2mpg increase going from our crap 93 octane with ethanol to non-ethanol 93 octane.
Thanks for the advice but I don't run Mobil1 because of its of its exposure in the racing world. I'm also familiar with Bob the oil guy. I've run Amsoil, Royal Purple, and a handful of other oils. I run Mobil1 because it is the best oil I've used over the course of the last 7 years. My 227k mile...
1. 5.4L
2. No idea.
3. If your fuel does not contain ethanol it is petrol.
4. Fuel tank is 28 US gallons
5. Can't see how this would be anything but 0 since your engine operates on vacuum. No boost (psi) is being utilized.
6. Never seen mine rev out to 7k. But you shouldn't have a problem...
I tried 20 and 30 as well and noticed no difference either. Is it normal for the phaser noise to be as random as it is in my case? I can let the damn thing sit for a week and it won't rattle. Drive it and park it for 15 minutes and then start it again and it rattles.
Thanks for backing up my suspicion. Guess I have yet another warranty claim to make. Fortunately for me... my complaint should be on the last two service files... here's to hoping they don't try to bend me over for another deductible.
Its been getting Mobil1 Full Syn in whatever the recommended weight is. Ford dealer has recommended this filter and that filter... none make any difference. There's been times when I'll start it a minute after shutting it down and it'll do it. The most odd part is that it acts like its got a...
My 07 has been doing this at random only at startup since I bought it two years ago. The last two times its been in for service, I've asked them to look at it. They say "couldnt' reproduce" but does it as soon as I go to leave or "oh, thats normal." My warranty is almost up and I am looking for...
Take your stick-on crap and GTFO. That price is absolutely insane... You can get hydrographics done for the same price and get a MUCH higher grade finished product.
They don't fit perfectly flush with the Metra kit. But the screws are long enough that you can use washers to space the kit in the corners that need it. Mine needed spacers on the top corners.

The factory enclosure appears to be the same dimensions and has the same mounting from 03+ regardless of wheelbase. The JL Stealthbox should fit any model without modifying the enclosure. I had to modify mine because the bracket they supplied wouldn't bolt to the box correctly, but it fit the...
I have terrible luck with mounting the antennae anywhere but the exterior of the vehicle. I can never seem to get satisfactory results. Besides the luck, SiriusXM's approved install method is with " an externally mounted antenna".
I had the antenna on the dash of my Expedition for about a week...
As long as the system is using IR for transmitting, Audiovox IR headphones will work fine. If worried about it, you can get the dual channel ones. I haven't seen a system the dual channel ones haven't worked with yet.
I believe it is wired in through the rear. When I still had everything factory in my truck, turning the RSE on would take over the rear speakers and the sub as the wiring for the rear speakers runs through the RSE.
Matt is correct. Range on the factory remote is almost worthless... Not to mention that it usually requires a lock-lock-lock or lock-unlock-lock procedure, accelerating lock actuator wear. Get a name brand unit installed by a reputable shop. You'll be so much happier. I make most of my living in...
