Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

Also, just a follow up-check your struts. One of mine was leaking and I ended up replacing both rear struts. That wasn't the problem, but it sure didn't help!

Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

I have towed a 31' Keystone Cougar with dual slides. Empty weight around 7,100. Probably loaded in the 8,500-9,000 lb range. I have towed it with a 2005 Expedition, 2009 Expedition and now a 2016 Expedition. With the exception of the squat on 2005 and 2009, the Expeditions have handled the...

Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

We did our first tow of the season with our new 2016 Expedition EL Limited. We tow a Keystone Cougar 31SQB. 7,100 dry, probably 8,500 lbs. loaded. Towed like a dream. Can't say enough good things about the Ecoboost engine and self-leveling shocks.

    Experience towing with ecoboost?

We just came back from a trip through the Catskills in NY. Some pretty steep grades and long hills. I couldn't be happier with our 2016 Expedition EL Limited. 3.73 gears, self leveling. Last year I pulled the same trailer up those hills with my 2009 Expedition with the 5.4L. On one hill we...

    2016 Expedition fuel mileage

Thanks for the input. It seems that others are getting better mileage, so I am going to wait and see as I get some mileage on it. I do have the 3.73 gears and the tow package. I'm sure the gearing takes a bite of of the mileage. Time will tell, but for now I am going to keep tracking it and...

    2016 Expedition fuel mileage

No heavy loads, just my family of 4. How much difference does it make driving in 4A vs. 2wd? Are there any advantages (fuel mileage or otherwise) in driving in either setting?

    2016 Expedition fuel mileage

We just bought a 2016 Expedition EL Limited. We traded in our 2009 Expedition for it. It's a huge upgrade from the 2009 Expy, and the family loves it. The only thing I noticed in that the fuel mileage (actual mileage, calculated) is not great. On the highway at around 70-75, averaging 15...

    2016 Expedition

Thanks for all the input! I know what you mean about the beige carpet looking dirty. My carpet doesn't look great, and that's with the Weathertech mats. I was kind of hoping to re-use them in the new truck, but they're beige. I mean, after spending almost $60,000 on a new truck, wouldn't...

2009 Expedition EL Limited, towing a 2013 Keystone Cougar 31SQB. This is our fourth (2012-2015) season towing this TT, thousands of miles with no problems. We have a Husky centerline WD hitch and sway is never a problem even when the semi's pass. A little waggle, then back on track. It's a...

    2016 Expedition

Thanks. I appreciate the info. So they do a beige interior with black carpet? I thought that would look a little strange...maybe its just me. My 2009 Expy has the dune interior and beige carpet. Seems to look a little more "coordinated", if that's the right word!

    2016 Expedition

We are looking to replace our 2009 Expedition EL Limited with a 2016 EL limited. We love our Expedition, but have been getting some pretty serious noise from the cam phasers. I bought it used and have no idea how it was maintained before I got it. Anyway, any ideas if there have been...

    Increasing Maxium Tongue Weight

Tongue weight and air suspension I am in the same boat. 2009 Expedition EL. I use the Husky centerline hitch also (which in itself is a beast-very heavy!). Truck tows great. Acceleration, handling, braking, sway - all no problem. My only issue is the tongue weight. For some reason the...

    2009 EL sags towing trailer

I have a 2009 Expedition Limited EL. It doesn't have the air suspension, but I would like to add it aftermarket. Are there any kits available (Monroe, Firestone, etc.) to add air suspension to a non-air suspension truck? I would like to add a little extra capacity to the rear end now that I'm...
