    You can try it for a short while and let us know. Spray some Liquid Wrench penetrating oil into the sparkplug well to try and free it up too. I haven't really heard of anybody trying this method. But hell, it could work. .

    Just for future reference .... Pull the intake off. Spray some Liquid Wrench on the broken bolt. Use a left hand drill bit to drill a hole into the broken bolt.     Get a bright flashlight and look all the lines over. Rear heater lines, everything. It doesn't sound like it's a big leak. No coolant reservoir overflow right ? You can pressure test the coolant system and it might help find a small leak. Coolant System Pressure Test Kit on Amazon .

    The EGR may be functioning fine. But if he didn't clean out the throttle body passage that the EGR attaches to, you will still have the low airflow rate that was triggering your P0401 code and the check engine light. Did he say he pulled the EGR valve off and cleaned out the throttle body...
