Took it to my local guy and he did a leak down test on the engine, either bent or burnt valve, either a $2,000 valve job, or a new engine. pretty pissed but looking to sell if anyone wants this truck for real cheap? PM me if you're interested.- mille1cw

That would be the most logical explanation, i agree now after i've said it. I replaced the COP but the issue still persists. I tried to replace the plug but it was giving me some tension and i was weary of putting too much torque on it seeing as it has been hell-coiled* and didn't want to strip...- mille1cw

Do you think it might be the Throttle Position Sensor? I had a heli-coil done to all cylinders within the past 6 months, all plugs and practically new. Thanks- mille1cw

Ok. I'm throwing codes for a #1 & #3 cylinder misfire. Here's the driving diagnosis. Rough "off balance feel" idle, crusing speed rough shaking, accelerarion/ WOT not an issue at all; feels lkje normal. Any takers?? I was thinking plugs or injectors respectively...thanks for your continued support!- mille1cw

Will a Double Din Fit?
Crutchfield is telling me that a double din receiver won't fit in my 2001 expy. To me, the opening looks a little on the small side so I can see that but are there any mod kits or other receivers that are bigger than a single din that would work well? Any help or recommendations would be great!- mille1cw

How many miles do you have on your Gen 1?
281,000 and counting. Original power train. Biggest issue was getting heli-coils's done to all 8 cylinders. very happy with her overall- mille1cw

The compressor kicks in for about 10 seconds at normal speed then shuts off in normal intervals. I'm going to g check the accumulator now.- mille1cw

outside temp was 70 degrees at the time, the only thing i hooked up to it was a cylinder of freon recharge. There was a gauge on the top of that but besides that, nothing else.- mille1cw

My 01 XLT with rear heat/ac isn't getting cold air. Freon is up to par and AC compressor is cycling. In the cab i'm hearing a discharge of air (mimics scuba diving air breathing) every couple seconds in a rhythmic motion. Now the rear heat hasn't worked for a while now fyi. I've replaced and properly gapped all 8 plugs Replaced the PCV valve Cleaned the MAF Had it smoke tested and no leaks Oil sending unit replaced It runs fine and has absolutely no problem with gas mileage. Can ANYBODY tell me what i'm missing? My codes are P0171 and P0174 both showing-...- mille1cw

In regards to the P0107 code; I took the truck in to get the code taken care of (i'm out of town and don't have my tools with me). They told me that the PCV valve was aftermarket and was dry rotting. $45 out the door and i'm sleeping good tonight.- mille1cw

Clicking Noise in Cab
The click is in rhythm and stays consistent through it's cycle. It is about a click every second and gets a little louder as the car warms up (it's about 15 degrees in the morning here in Michigan).- mille1cw

I'm getting a loud clicking sound coming from my rear driver side heater core/condenser area in the cab (above wheel well). I've seen this question asked before through a google search but to no avail. This sound only lasts a few minutes but damn is it annoying. Bad core? Condenser? thanks guys- mille1cw

Oil on the plugs
The oil is only on the threads and towards the spark. I think i'm going to just not worry about it until it blows up. I definitely will keep the truck though and drop a new engine in it because it's in great shape. Thanks for the input. Also i'm throwing a p0107 engine lean code. Would these be...- mille1cw

Surprisingly it doesn't show signs of any malfunction. I've been using Valvoline 5-20 and it doesn't burn oil or knock. Just found it really strange.- mille1cw

Now to start, i know a little about engines but i'm not the say all end all on them. I underwent the arduous task last night of replacing the spark plugs and a few dry rotted coil packs on my 01 Expy. Took 6 hours! Now, on cylinder 1 & 2, the plugs had a good amount of engine oil coating them...- mille1cw
