Fuel Milage

Fuel Milage
I have an 06 Eddie Bauer that now has 212,000 miles. I can get 21 mpg on the highway if I drive below 70. Driving 55 and being careful I can get 23. Around town, again being careful about quick starts and stops, I get 16-17. We're not in a really congested area expect at 8 a.m. and 5 p.m...- DonM

Mine is 2wd. I used to drive fast, but now I'm not in a hurry and make an effort to get good mileage. My mileage is probably not typical but it is achievable if you work at it. My wife has a 6 cylinder Ford Escape and she gets about 20 mpg average. I drove it 250 miles on the road Wednesday...- DonM

I can't believe I just read this entire thread. Only one question, why would anyone care how fast an Expedition is off the line. If I want to race I'll but a race car. :) My 2006 EB now has right at 200,000 miles and, other than routine maintenance has had zero problems. I'm 6'5" and 260 and...- DonM

Well I feel like a total idiot. I ordered the cabin air filter for my 06 EB from AutoPartsWarehouse. It arrived and as I am recovering from surgery I took it to the oil change place for them to install. After about 30 minutes they reported that it DID NOT have one. They even called Ford...- DonM

I know this is an old thread, but my newly-acquired 06 EB definitely has a filter located behind the glove box. Ford dealer wants $40. for the filter. Get it on line for $19. DonM- DonM

You may not believe this! As mentioned above, mine was doing the same thing. I planned to look for the problem on a Thursday, after parking the vehicle Wednesday night. Went out Thursday to get started on it and NOTHING would work. All systems dead. Did all the obvious checks and nothing...- DonM
