I can't find SEM 5206 or SEM 5208. Does someone have the actual name of these paint colors? I tried ColorBond 120 (Med. Dark Parchment) for the darker brown dash acsents. Unfortunately, this color (ColorBond 120) is way too light. Does anyone know the ColorBond or SEM color name or number of the...
Does anyone know the paint color (ColorBond) for the dark brown bezel surround for the stereo head unit and Heater Control? Mine is a 1999 Expedition. The majority of the dash is Medium Prairie Tan. I'm looking for the dark brown color.
Do you have a link to the XCT? I have the A-pillar gauge monitoring trans temp too. I think my gauge is hooked to the test port on the drivers side. What do you have your XCT hooked to?
Wondering if there is a way to read the trans temps from the ODB2 port on a Gen I (1999) expedition. I have an external trans temp gauge on my A-pillar but it would be nice to get another data point to check how accurate my aftermarket gauge and temp sensor is.
I, for one, think everything you have done to top notch and on point and definitely not overdone or overkill. It's exactly what I would do given the resources ($$) and knowhow. Keep it up. Absolutely love the Expy.
What's up with the 2 sets of lower control arms?
I think I've asked you before, but if not, I'll ask again. Do Stiffler Upper Control Arms fit the 1st Gen 4x4s or just the 4x2s? I'm still looking for adjustable UCA for my '99 4x4 Expy that I lowered using the Ground Force kit.
#1 Aftermarket mod would be the 2001 Lightning supercharged crate engine that sits under the hood of my Expedition. The 2nd would be the wood grain and leather steering wheel.
Update - Installed the Rancho RS5000 Steering Stabilizer and promptly removed it 2 weeks later. It was rubbing on my Hotchkis Front Swaybar and pushed the transmission cooler lines up into the crank pulley. Luckily I got to it before any damage was done to the cooler lines. I need to mention I...
I did swap out the fog light relay for a known good one and I have a new (junk yard) switch assembly. Using the junk yard switch assembly yields the same issue. I will swap out the headlight relay - I haven't done that yet.
I deliberately did not mention the fog light mod since it had been working flawlessly since 2006. I didn't want people to instantly jump to that being the issue. It's worked for 14 years. Obviously there is something that happened when I "hot swapped" the bulbs a few days ago.
Any ideas???
Update number 2 - everything works as it should once I reversed the fog light mod. Removing the jumper wire between the brown and white/black wire solves the problem of the headlights coming on when the headlight switch is in the Parking Light position. What's weird is this jumper and the mod...
Thread revival. I've had this mod done on my 1999 Expedition since 2006 and it's worked flawlessly. I recently changed the bulbs in my fog lights back to to the original halogens. During the bulb swap process something blew fuse 27 (5A) under the dash that runs the relay and fuse 9 (15A) in the...
OK, one problem fixed. Fog lights are working now. The fuse (27 - 5A) under the dash is only to trip the fog light relay under the hood. That was blown (I knew that). There is another fuse in the main fuse box under the hood that runs the fog lights. It's fuse 9 (15A), it too was blown. Replaced...
Anyone have this happen? After replacing the blubs in my fog lights, fuse 27 (5A) blew which controls the fog light relay. Replaced the fuse and now the fog lights no longer work and the headlights come on in the Parking Light position. Replaced the headlight switch assembly inside the cab of...
I was changing the bulbs on my fog lights last night and I plugged the passenger side in with the headlight/fog light switch in the ON position. When I did that, the drivers side fog light immediately went out. I figured I had blown a fuse and sure enough (fuse 27 - 5A) was blown. I replaced it...
Anyone try using Stifflers Adjustable Upper Control Arms on their Gen 1 Expy? The Stifflers website says these are for the 1999-2004 F150 2WD only. My 1999 Expy is 4WD and has been lowered using the Ground Force kit for Expeditions with the 4 corner load leveling suspension. My problem is the...
In 1999, Ford did not offer an outside mirror with both heat and signal. It was one or the other. However, since it was a choice, the 1997-1999 Expeditions were wired for both. Depending on the mirror that was installed, determined which pins on the connector were active.
I went to the junk yard and got a set of heated, signal mirrors from a 2000 EB Expy. With the wiring diagrams Jim Brown provided (Thanks Jim!!!), I was able to wire these 2000 mirrors into my 1999 harness. The 2000 wiring harness has a lot of extra wires for memory which the 1999s never came...
