    I painted my 2004 running boards and regretted it. Painted surfaces are slick when wet. I had numerous people slip in and out of the car. I replaced them with an aftermarket set soon after. I would look into an inexpensive ceramic coating for them. The will shine forever and take away the dull look.

    He is just trying to help, relax... I dont think the fuel pump is the issue, however a fuse can cause an intermittent issue. Melting can cause the contacts between the fuse block and the fuse to have intermittent connection based on expanding and contracting from heat or the fuse holder...

    Getting the unit to sit flush was the main reason for removing it from the case, I wanted as low profile as possible. I dont plan on using the pocket for anything else.
