$1000 or prolly more for labor
if it was me, I'd get a used engine and put it in myself
I did my 98 engine swap for less than $500 total
it is a lot of work though
did you ever get to the compression test?
head gaskets and timing set will be a huge waste of time if you've got other issues.

lean codes could be from intake but more commonly caused by elbows in the PCV piping.
