    Another suspension thread....ugh

sounds like I have a few options here. I can replace my rear springs with new ones or lift springs. Or I can take a couple turns out of the torsions and see if it will settle. Hmm......decisions decisions....haha.

    Another suspension thread....ugh

Ok, so I know there are a million suspension threads and I've read up on them. In fact when I got my Navigator it was one of the first things I looked at because my rear end sags. I was all prepared to buy a coil conversion kit and get it installed. However, I was under my Navigator for the...

    Steering TOO easy?

Thanks for the info! I have been driving it mostly under 30 mph as its not yet registered so I will have to see how it goes.

    Steering TOO easy?

Hey everyone, So in my available time I've been trying to get my 98 Navigator road ready. I drove it down the road again today to bring it to a local mechanic for my VIN verify. Anyway, when I drive it I notice how ridiculously easy the steering is. I don't mean it is loose, I mean it's...

    Air Suspension problem

Ya, my driver's side rear airbag in the Navigator I just picked up is super saggy. Planning a complete coil swap over. It's only about $200

Getting ready to change my Timing set

My FSM came yesterday. Should help out some, although I won't be following it to the T. Planning to follow these instructions Timing Procedure for the 97 -03 Two valve 4.6L & 5.4L Modular Engines - F150online Forums

Getting ready to change my Timing set

Ya if I'm in that deep, might as well replace the chains. Probably the sprockets too huh? Not trying to cut corners to save money but want to give myself the easiest shot at keeping the timing correct also. I've got 1 cam holding tool so I can do the sprockets if I need to.

Getting ready to change my Timing set

I wondered if I could change just the guides and tensioners. That would be MUCH better. I do have a camholding tool so I can use that to keep the timing right. I still need valve cover gaskets though right? I am assuming I will have to take off my valve covers.

Getting ready to change my Timing set

So I've definetly got a broken cam chain guide in my 5.4L V8. It's got 160k miles on her. I"ve got an FSM on the way to help me with the repair, but I'm also looking for some insight from you guys that have done this before. I've changed the timing set in 1 other V8 but it was a 1974 Jeep...

    Help me with this noise!

If I remember I'll take lots of pictures and do a thread on it because I've yet to find one online of somebody doing the timing set. My FSM should be here in a couple days. Now if the weather would warm up so I can start working!

    Help me with this noise!

Looks like I'll be tearing into the front of this thing as soon as the weather allows it. I've got an FSM on the way so that will help me get through it. I did a timing set on a 74 CJ5 with a V8 a while back so I'm not a total stranger.

    Help me with this noise!

I've been doing some reading and listening to other people's videos and I think you are right. How bad of a job is it on these engines? If I drive it am I likely to cause catostrophic failure?

    Help me with this noise!

Ok so I ran down to Wally world and picked up a stethoscope. Listened around a bit and think I found where the sound is coming from. Sounds a little like a tick with a squeal....very hard to explain. Here's a pic of where the sound seems the loudest.

Wondering if you ever got anywhere with this as I think I've got a very similar problem. Your video clip sounds alot like mine.

    Help me with this noise!

Hi everyone, so I had some noise in my engine bay that sounded alot like a power steering pump going bad. However, it was my tensioner pully. I changed out the tensioner pulley and the idler pulley right next to it. Sounds much better. However, now I hear a different sound. Not sure if it...

    Air Suspension

So, first I'd like to apologize for ressurecting an old thread. BUT I figured it's better than starting a new one. I've got 2 questions. 1st of all - WHY ISN'T THIS A STICKY!?!?! 2nd - I have a navigator, can I order the expedition kit and get a small amount of lift from it? Strangely...

98 Navigator only starts in neutral

So I just bought a 98 Navigator and actually haven't even gone to pick it up yet. Planning to do that tomorrow after work. Anyway, you have to shift it into neutral to start it. Also it doesn't like to go back into park. I'm thinking maybe there's an adjustment or a worn out cable...

    New guy with a Navigator

Hey everyone! New here, but not new to forums. Normally I hang on over at Jeepforum.com a whole lot but today I picked up a 1998 Lincoln Navigator 4wd for $1800. I have to get a temporary plate and go back to pick it up in a few days. It's got 162k miles on it and runs and drives good...
