I don't think that will happen again... at least not with another ford vehicle!
yes I am grateful about the 3 years I got out of her.
I hope yours keeps going strong for years to come
Before you proceed with the new engine idea, just make sure your tranny is up to par as well. One of the reasons I let mine go after the engine blew, was that earlier I found metal shavings (some were big) on the tranny pan while doing a tranny fluid flush!
on top of that add the:
Radiator...
In the absence of a of a shop fan, you can always use your regular garden hose! Just make sure you're spraying cold water directly at the condenser coils. Works the same as stamp11127 mentioned above!
I would start by jacking up the truck and supporting it with jackstands. Then crawling underneath the truck with a rubber mallet and start tapping on the exhaust system from the front cats towards the rear of the vehicle and see if you can replicate the rattle. Then do the same process with the...
I would start by checking for vacuum leaks especially around the EVAP system. Then check that the intake throttle body and EGR are functioning properly before throwing parts at it! It seems that you may have EGR orifices plugged and in need of cleaning. There's a few videos posted on YouTube...
Thanks but not sure I want to go back to Ford at this time. I'm not sure I can afford a newer one, plus I have not had good experiences with their new engine designs and experiments thru the years of owning their products.
And by the looks of it, they're still making them and passing those...
She did earn it!
My wife loved driving her around. If she was in better condition I would have tried reviving her. But the shavings found in the tranny did for me. Too much of a risk plus all the other stuff added to that equals too much investment.
Sorry about your loss as well
We got her back in Mar 2015 with over 145K miles. It appears that the oil pump stopped working. My wife went out to run errands and while driving she noted the oil gauge went down to zero and then back up a few times. She was not far from home and though she could make back ok. By then the...
I agree %100 with stamp11127:
I had the exact same issue he is describing here. This re-manufactured Alternators are being restored with older components that are not compatible with this "plug and play" electrical systems in newer vehicles. In this case the older Voltage Regulator does not...
Dude...
you're looking at $4-8 max for the replacement relay needed to do the repair, instead of $300-400 for a replacement. think of all the "good soldering irons" you can buy and still save money doing it yourself! Best part is... you know its done right and it wont fail again in a few years

Would like to know who is your supplier/manufacturer for this hubs assemblies?
I asked a week ago thru your web page and got no replies!
Something to think about. I've heard of Camshaft Position Sensors on some Ford vehicles making a loud chirping sound when they are going bad (run dry of lubrication). So your Serpentine Belt may be fine and what you could be in fact hearing is in fact this Sensor going bad.
But then again your...
in my case
In my case...the needle thru the sprayer didnt work! I had to remove them from the cowl and clean all the junk buildup from the back end of the sprayer.
I had this very same issue last week! I just gently tapped the side of the pivot arm with a hammer while lifting upwards. It came right off without a fight!
Don't know if Ford did this across the board with all models for any particular year... but on my 2000 Ford Windstar, all I have to do is push the red un-buckle button on the seat belt while on the un-latched position and this would stop the seat belt chime for the duration of the (run) cycle...
Yup that's a good idea about forming you own drain guard...post pictures if you do! I think the existing plastic gutter or drain channel as you call it, shrinks and deforms from the repeated heat and cool cycles from the engine. I didn't answer to your original post question, but I don't jack up...
