Squeak when shifting at high acceleration
I have definitely experienced the same thing in my '03 EB. Only happens when Im really giving it the beans. Does have high K so shifts are a bit hard at high RPM which is when it squeaks, but so far no issues at all. How long will my expedition last?
Almost EXACTLY my situation! I picked up a 2003 EB with 190k miles for $2000 a few weeks ago. Ok so small update, I went out and got greasy on my coffee break and followed the steps above from the other post... I pulled the valve out of the valve cover and held my finger over the tip. Nothing. No suction. Then I pulled the hose off the top of the valve and TONS of suction...- dvandoormaal

Thanks a lot! That sounds like a good approach. The truck has 306,000km on it now so I think I might just opt to replace the valve if not the whole thing, as I have a 2000km roadie to go on over Christmas. Who has the most miles on the odometer of their expedition?
Wow thats unreal, good to hear they can last like that. Just gotta keep an eye on everything and keep pouring time and $$$ in I guess. Mileage 198,000 miles or 306,000 km here in Canada. Great shape all things considered but starting to smell burning oil and see a little smoke from the right side, fearing the notorious HG leak :Frustrated: Gotta drive from BC to Alberta at Christmas, hopefully it will be all good!- dvandoormaal

Whining sound during acceleration
Whirring/moaning sound under the hood Im having the same sorta problem. A moaning sound, more so when the truck is cold, that increases with RPM and in certain RPM ranges.
