MPG - And how to improve it
Had the same in an 01 Excursion V10 4x4 it took a egg on the gas pedal to keep it out of single digits turn on the 4x4, and A/C and I could count the MPG on 1 hand , and still have a free finger, and thumb.. From 16 to 12 to 14.5
My 03 5.4 4x4 will get on a good day 14 MPG highway about 11 city. We have a winter blend of gas here in Mich. I use only Mobil mid grade... as I recall last summer It was avg of maybe + 1.5 Mpg highway, and + .5 city. Then again it's been a really low precipitation winter..... :-(- Fred69

New TSB 2003-2004 Exped, AND NAVAGATOR A/C problems

First Time Buyer.. Any tips?
Go for the 5.4 L Tow package if available, this will give you pretty much all the cooling power you will ever need. Here in Michigan I would not go w/o 4x4 it's the only way to go (personal opinion) eb does as mentioned have extra's as shown above, I didn't really care for the cladding, again...- Fred69

After Market Projector headlamps
Yeah saw those, there is also a set flat black looks nice. I'm not a real clear/chrome fan. More of a high tech look! nonetheless not worth $750 + bulbs....for me to jump. Stock Floor Mats
My 03 (standard) mats were soooooo cheap I went to the local auto parts store and got me some deep well rubber ones for these sloppy wet nasty Michigan winters. The stock ones were thrown still in the box into the garage attic. JUNK- Fred69

2004 Expedition A/C question
AS I know it the Corvette has a very HD a/c system as the Vehicle is a fast rolling insulation blanket. 45 degrees sounds on the High side for cabin discharge. I believe the compressor shuts down @ 65 degrees ambient temp, except when defrost mode. another thing that will cause less than optimal...- Fred69

Can your "stock" DVD player play "backup" copies of DVD's?
DVD Xcopy Platinum seems to burn my Memorex -R just fine. Have had no probs so far,\. ( knock on wood) via my Gateway PC I do not know what burner it is though. Took about a half hr. to burn Nemo. Of course for back up use only! DVD Xcopy Platinum was $99 @ Best Buy.- Fred69

Keypad Entry Help
There is a procedure for the keypad in the owners manual it is just short of tedius.. Yes the keypad should light up when any # is pressed. maybe the bulb inside has gone out, also in the manual is the fuse assignment. I cannot recall off hand which one it is.. the code on the card should allow...- Fred69

Based on the e-mail I just got there are a zillion possibilities. Some may seem too obvious.. Parking brake stuck, water in the gas, clogged fuel filter, did you fillup w/gas in the interim? bad gas, computer went south for the winter. Try shifting manually from 1st- 2nd- D -od see if that...- Fred69

Who waxes the roof of the Expy?
I got one of those rhino hitch steps, and that helped me with access in order to wax the roof before winter. Not to mention washing it properly. for the sides, I would stand on a multi fold ladder which was nice but left alot to be desired.- Fred69
