WTH is this ticking/banging noise!?
I agree with Moose, it seems to be an oil issue to me. I've never used the spring compressor so I can't help there, but I actually replaced all 12 rocker arms on the passenger side of the engine by just unbolting the cam and lifting it up, it obviously gets tighter the farther forward you go...- TDCorbett

How much did you pay for your Expedition?
2007 With 198k miles, $2800. Needed a $15 rocker arm and a set of tires. Bought it in 2015.- TDCorbett

WTH is this ticking/banging noise!?
It's a pretty simple job actually. I had one on each side go out on my 07. You never have to mess with timing. Once you get the valve cover off, take the bolts out of the cam, keeping pressure on it the whole time so you don't damage the threads and it doesn't fly out. When you get the bolts...- TDCorbett

2007 engine power issues
My 2007 Expy had a pretty loud tick when I bought it, I was planning on replacing the cam phasers but when I pulled the valve covers off it was just two rocker arms. One on each side.
