    Rear Coil Spacer Questions

Anybody have a decent write up or pics of an installation for the spacers? I'm just about to order them and want to put them in myself.

    Rear Coil Spacer Questions

Thanks for the response, Thermo. Other than aesthetics, is top or bottom mounting better? Which do you think is safer? Which is easier to install?

    Rear Coil Spacer Questions

I've heard people say you can mount the spacer on top or bottom of the spring. That being the case, has anyone installed two spacers on one spring? Meaning one on the top and one on the bottom? Reason I ask is Daystar 1" spacers are less than half the price of the 2" spacers. Maybe this...

    Replacing Brake Lines/Tubing

After hearing that, I think I'll just have him do all the lines after all. I don't want to take that risk (especially with my parking brake not working either...). I'll just get it fixed right and save the time/money/headaches.

    Replacing Brake Lines/Tubing

Just stopped by to see my mechanic (borrowed my sister's vehicle). Unfortunately, the earliest he could get me in is next week. He is estimating $500 to $1000 to replace all the lines in the vehicle since it will take a full day of labor. He will use coated tubing and bend all of it exactly...

    Replacing Brake Lines/Tubing

I had the truck in the shop 2 months ago and my mechanic said all the lines were in bad shape and needed to be replaced soon. Actually, he was talking about the back lines only--he didn't take a look at the front. I think the leak is driver's side rear.

    Replacing Brake Lines/Tubing

My father just moved my truck out of the driveway and said the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. There is a puddle of brake fluid on the ground, too. I haven't gotten a chance to look yet, but I'm sure I need to replace all of the lines. Has anyone had this done by a shop? Just...

    New 2 me 1999 Ex 4x4

Fender and liftgate badges are all held on with double-sided tape, but have several alignment pins/holes. If you remove the badges, you will have holes showing. Truck looks great! Thanks for all the pics!

    Auxiliary Reverse Light Question

I'm sure someone around here can pull up a wiring schematic for you...I'm pretty sure you can use it, though.

    Auxiliary Reverse Light Question

One more thing, lol. If you have the tow package with the wiring harness, you could probably use that for power (rather than running all the way back to the battery). I'm not 100%, but that is worth investigating.

Also, don't forget to use a fuse!

    Auxiliary Reverse Light Question

That's too many amps to tap into the reverse wiring. You should definitely use a relay; and I'd recommend a 3-way relay and switch set up (on, off, switched-on). This is much safer, more reliable, and you'd probably find it more useful/convenient. If you didn't buy the lights yet, and are...

    Rear Control Arm Replacement

Ended up taking it to a mechanic. 2.5 hrs of labor and replaced all 4 rear arms (upper & lower) for $200. He was able to use all of the factory bolts/nuts, which eases my mind. Lowers were completely rotted through in some parts; uppers weren't nearly as bad, but were quickly...

    Rear Control Arm Replacement

So my first attempt to take the old arms off was unsuccessful. I soaked the bolts/nuts with PB Blaster and went at it with an air impact wrench w/400 ft lbs of torque...it wouldn't budge! Any advice? I'm looking at buying a more powerful impact wrench (1000 ft lbs), using a torch, or...

    Removes stock running boards.

Looks good. It looks a lot bigger now. I did the same, but when I did, I noticed my rocker panels were rotted away. How do yours look? After lots of cutting and painting, my running boards will be going back on to cover up my redneck repair.

Low Oil Pressure - Gauge/Light Problem

I forgot to mention. Both the gauge and light work the same way. They both show either normal or low pressure--no in between or high. So if the pressure is low enough to activate the switch, the light comes on and the needle drops all the way to the minimum. Otherwise, the light is off and...

    Rear Control Arm Replacement

Anyone know the part #'s for the OEM bolts? I can't find them listed on Tasca. Also, I looked up the specs for grade 5 vs 8. Grade 5 is about 70-80% as strong as grade 8. From what I've read, the frame is more likely to break than a bolt of either rating. Just some food for thought.

    Stock door speaker sizes?

5x7 would also fit. 6.5" fits with an adapter plate. Don't forget to check depth, too, though.

    Rear Control Arm Replacement

As many other first gen owners have experienced, my rear control arms are rotting. I ordered replacements off eBay from an aftermarket manufacturer. They are a better design, fully-powdercoated and were a good price. Unfortunately they did not come with installation hardware and I will...

Low Oil Pressure - Gauge/Light Problem

I know many other first gen owners have this problem, so I thought I'd share my experience. I've had my oil pressure gauge/light show low oil over the past couple years intermittently. It typically occurred during start up on cold days/nights. Finally, I got around to tackling the...

    Picked up some new tires

Well my 285s are mm from rubbing on the valance. If you don't have a 4x4 or if you dont have the front end leveled, you might have had rubbing.

Cool. I got the same tires...except in 285/75...no rubbing on mine, though. Let's see some pics!
