5 Star vs MPT tuning for 24 Valve 5.4

Hey guys, I have an SCT X4 tuner and I'm trying to decide whether to go with 5 Star or MPT for my tunes. I've heard all about 5 Star across the Expedition and F-150 forums and the amazing performance that comes from Mike's tunes. I was going with this route until I read from a couple of F-150...

    2005 Ford Expedition 4R75W Bulletproofing

The system and harness from US Shift looks promising. It looks like I'll be going with that. It will allow me to mate a 6r80 up to the engine and be able to have the computer software function appropriately. Plus I've read that they're good up to 1,000 hp stock, so I just need a good 6r80 for...

2005 Ford Expedition Sequential Turbocharger Setup

The system from US Shift looks promising. It looks like I'll be going with that. I just need a good 6r80 for a good price and I'll be set.

Hmm I'll look into that. This 4 speed is one of its downfalls for great acceleration. That application would serve me well. That would help me with figuring out the bulletproofing as well.

    2005 Ford Expedition 4R75W Bulletproofing

I don't intend to race it, although I could. I will post videos of its performance when I get this accomplished though. From what I've seen and compared from a certain supercharged Expy in a video, this kind of performance with 700 hp would yield a 0 to 60 of 4 to 5 seconds. The main reason...

    2005 Ford Expedition 4R75W Bulletproofing

Sorry you had to go through that. I'm glad to hear about the full recovery  And yes, I do mean completely physically reliable for power ratings a little beyond 700 hp at the crank.

Oh absolutely. I posted another thread about just the turbocharger for anything else I might be missing for strengthening the internals.

    2005 Ford Expedition 4R75W Bulletproofing

Hi, I'd like to ask for some advice on bulletproofing a 4R75W. I plan on adding a turbocharger to my Expy and running it at 19.6 PSI of boost making a total of 700 HP and 852 ft-lb. of torque or so. I've seen some websites, like Monster Transmission where you send them your tranny, they put in...

2005 Ford Expedition Sequential Turbocharger Setup

Hey guys, so I need some info on turbocharging my 2005 Expy 5.4 L. I've seen how some people do it with their 4.6 L's on the Mustang forums and even a couple guys with their F-150's, so I know it can be done with enough effort and money. I just need a lot of advice and wisdom. My goal is to...

    2005 Ford Expedition 4x4 conversion

Hi, I'm in the process of mapping out and gathering parts to convert my 2005 Ford Expedition to a 4x4. I need some additional information though. I do not wish to do a solid axle swap (SAS) as I'd like to keep the stock IFS. I've measured underneath mine, some 4x4 Expeditions, and F150's and...

    2007 - 2017 same rear suspension?

Is the AdvanceTrac roll stability control system the same between them as well? Any differences in the way it handles?

    2007 - 2017 same rear suspension?

Hi, I'm curious as to whether or not a 2015 through 2017 expedition has the same rear suspension as an '07 through '14 Expy. By suspension I mean same independent rear suspension, same control arm placement, bolt locations, all of that. I tried looking online for pictures of the '15 rear...

2008 Ford Expedition shuttering in overdrive in low rpms

We finally got some time to change the transmission fluid and filter. JExpedition07 and bobmbx were right from the very start. No shuttering whatsoever. Its completely fixed without any trace at all. Thanks guys, and everyone else, for your wisdom, insight, and patience!

2008 Ford Expedition shuttering in overdrive in low rpms

So we detected a misfire on cylinder 4, just 1 value count, and a general misfire of 0.24414%. We had some aftermarket coils that were made in the USA installed (yes I know), but the shuttering was the same with these just as before with the OEM ones. I cleaned up one the OEM ones and put it...

2008 Ford Expedition shuttering in overdrive in low rpms

We ordered a Bluedriver to diagnose it further for the misfiring that won't show up with regular code readers. We'll see what we can find. This is from FTE member Bluegrass regarding the shuttering from the EGR system: A 402 code could be implicated but not a 401. The shudder involves the EGR...

2008 Ford Expedition shuttering in overdrive in low rpms

That makes sense. I believe both of you without a doubt. I just wasn't sure how deep these scanners will read into the engagement of the components. If it'll just tell them that bit of info about the TC not locking up, it sounds like it could be a wasted trip to the dealership. Any thoughts...

2008 Ford Expedition shuttering in overdrive in low rpms

Thanks for the quick replies, guys. I figured it had to be something with the TC or fluid and filter. I did notice a lot of people stating that the fluid and filter change fixed the problem most of the time. We do all of the maintenance on our vehicles ourselves, so we'll tackle that instead...

2008 Ford Expedition shuttering in overdrive in low rpms

Hi, I've got an issue that I'm hoping someone will be able to help me resolve. My parents have a 2008 Ford Expedition with the 24V 5.4L V8 and 6R75 transmission. It's got about 130,000 miles on it. The problem that we're experiencing with it is heavy shuttering when it's accelerating in 6th...

2005 Ford Expedition heated seat won't blow hot air

Thanks for the reply. Can you explain the relay part of it? I hear "flipping" or the "engaging" sound for both of the seats when the heated or cooled seats is kicked on, but the passenger seat works fine, so how could one tell if it's faulty for the driver's seat? Also, I do not have heater...

    Biggest size tires no lift

This is all I trimmed off. It's about half an inch off of the bottom inner valence of the front right wheel well. I didn't have to do it on the left side because my valence was a little bent on the right side. You may not even have to trim if your valence and bumper isn't bent in any way. I just...

    6R75 reprogrammed with 6R80 tow/haul programing

I was wondering if there was a way to add the tow/haul programming of the 6r80 into the 6r75. The up hill/down hill towing software logic of the 6r80 would be nice to have in a 6r75. Just wondering if there was a chip or tuner for this.
