2015 Max/EL, 3.5
Lately, shifting into/out of park (mostly all the shifting I do) I've noticed the shifter feels...sticky? Firmer? Not as smooth/easy as it was?
Is there a lube I'm missing? Something to clean? TIA
I had the factory extended warranty, used it to great effect. Then it expired, and I made the mistake of getting one - car shield? They're all a scam.
I had a transmission cooler hose blow out. And had to have the ATB replaced. Neither was covered. So what did I pay more than $2k for?
I just received a recall notice from Ford about the AC fan circuity catching fire...
They hope to have a fix in 2023.
Since the Wall Street Journal tells me that Ford is running out of Blue Oval grill badges, I'm a bit worried.
When I finally got around to replacing the rear wiper blade with one that takes a normal insert, I noticed that a) I had a hell of a time getting the old blade off - to the point that I was worried the pressure would cause the glass to shatter!
And b), the motor on the inside can be a little...
I had pretty much the same experience - a very slow leak, only noticed when I took the truck in for an alignment and the tech noted it to me. Around 80k miles.
Around 60k miles, there was a leak in a small hose that dripped slowly onto the serpentine belt and tensioner which required...
I had to replace my '15 Expy battery in '18 - sudden failure, I had AAA put in one of theirs. Price was very fair, service onsite was quick.
That battery started acting up last month, and I replaced it with an Optimum 34. In my '97 Yukon I had an optimum for about 8 years, the battery...
I would. I certainly got my value out of the factory extended warranty when I bought my 15 new... Now that I'm in a second warranty, I haven't gotten any benefit from it (they don't cover hoses, like the $800 transmission hoses I just had to replace) but still.
A week ago I was driving home (almost there) when two of the four hoses from the my transmission to the transmission oil cooler exploded...
Pulled over, got a tow home (everything was closed)....checked it out the next morning, and yep - they're still blown apart and dripping transmission fluid...
I walked out to my '15 Expedition this morning...Seems all the transmission fluid has leaked out of the front - the cooler? Waiting for the tow truck to haul it to the shop..
Hopefully, just a cooler - not the transmission itself...
90k miles, no known damage.
The owners manual for my '15 Ecoboost specifies 87-octane fuel. Its in the chart on the first page of 'Specifications', page 355 in mine.
And the only time I've ever had a knocking issue was when I put some 85 octane in it, in Colorado. It took the ECM about 10 minutes to adjust to it.
