    2015 FORD EXPEDITION ANTIFREEZE LEAK

Does it look like it’s coming from the front of the engine or near the radiator? The EB has a hole on the bottom of the water pump that will leak if the truck is run hot and then shut off. Both of my Expeditions leaked from there. The dealer replaced the water pumps and never had a problem since.

‘17 Replace OEM with Aftermarket Radio

Have you tried looking at the factory piece? Tasca lists it for $56.97, and I believe that’s the only option. No one makes an aftermarket piece as only the base XLT came with the small screen and the integration with SYNC means you can’t really swap out the factory radio very easily on the ones...

Which Tune? MPT vs Livernois vs 5 Star vs Unleashed

I only have experience with 5 Star. I had some of their tunes on my 5.0 F-150 and then I had their tunes on my Expedition. Their 5.0 tune was a monster in my truck, it was a custom “race” tune. Their tune on my Expedition I was less thrilled with. Definite increase in power, but the trans tuning...

2017 XLT towing package upgrade questions

https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/install-oem-brake-controller-on-my-2017-expy.37376/ This lists the steps and there is a picture of the FORScan spreadsheet in the background of one of the photos. I couldn’t see what you are changing the value to, but you can see the module addresses and...

    Replacing Rear Axle

The biggest problem is the shape of the frame. The IRS is what allows the totally flat interior when the seats are folded and the lowered load floor compared to the SUVs with a solid rear axle. There’s no space for the rear axle to move up and down in the Expedition as the frame is nearly flat...

    Towing Question

The increasing temps on uphills is normal. Increasing to the point where you get a warning is not, in my experience. I also don’t consider a single warning to be overly concerning. If I had it happen twice during a drive, I’d slow down, but not after one time and it coming right back down. My...

It’s been a fun ride, but my Expedition is gone.

There it is. @LokiWolf I never owned it, just had rights to it. I’ll have to take a look, as I haven’t opened it in ages.

It’s been a fun ride, but my Expedition is gone.

Traded in my Expedition yesterday, with some regret I’ll admit. Replaced by a Jetta SportWagen diesel with a manual transmission. Had to make some priority choices, and the Expedition came out on the losing end. Still have my wife’s Expedition, so I’ll still be around, but not as actively...

2018 Raptor Wheels and Tires with Modified Center Caps

Traded in my Expedition yesterday, and put on the stock wheels so I’m selling the Raptor wheels and tires I bought a few months ago. Less than 10K miles on them, bought brand new. Center caps have been clearanced on rear wheels for the Expedition stub axles. They do come with TPMS sensors...

    2017 Passenger side headlight housing

Unfortunately, glue or replacement is your only option. There are no aftermarket replacements available for our generation of truck. The only other option for headlights is the projectors out of the Limited and up variations. But you’d need both headlights, and they’re even more expensive than...

    Surging in Manual Gears

This is the third thread in recent memory on this exact same issue, so in this place that’s fairly frequent. No reports of it causing damage or anything of that sort, so it does seem like something not to fret over. I have not personally experienced it, as I have never used manual mode in my...

Issue With Five Star 91 Performance Tune

@MidwestBoater does make a valid point. Generally, 50K is considered the limit on a tuned vehicle for factory plugs. I never noticed a decrease in performance in mine, rather a rough idle, and ended up changing mine at 55K. Recommendation for a tuned truck is .028-.030; and all the SP534 plugs...

Issue With Five Star 91 Performance Tune

I have experienced this maybe once or twice in the nearly two years and 40K miles I’ve had my 93-performance tune. It seems to occur for me only when being driven like a hybrid under humid conditions, and then squeeze the throttle but don’t give it full throttle. If it’s a frequent occurrence...

    Another retrofit started. RX350!!!

You mean like this? I don’t think it would look bad that way, never easy to tell if something would look right without actually doing it, but I think it would be enough to draw the eye from the lone spot of color on the headlight without being overwhelming.

    Another retrofit started. RX350!!!

I’d like to see how it looks lit, but the color is a good match for the reflector bowl. I’m a big fan of murdered-out headlights, so naturally I approve. But that switchback REALLY sticks out with nothing to draw your eye away from it. I know you previously mentioned possibly not using the...

New Owner Hello and a few ?'s

They fit. I don’t want to give a 100% guarantee, but OEM mirrors are the same by part number for 2012-17, regardless of options, so no way the tow mirrors wouldn’t be a bolt-on.

New Owner Hello and a few ?'s

They are made specific for the Expedition. Look up Trail Ridge mirrors on 1AAuto.com, they are the exclusive distributor. Model varies on options like memory, BLIS, etc. Here’s a good comparison between the regular mirrors and the tow mirrors. The tow mirrors are just like the F-150 ones with...

New Owner Hello and a few ?'s

Sounds like a solid purchase, especially as a CPO truck. As far as your questions go, when it comes to upgrading the low beams, you’ll get a variety of different answers. All depends on what you are trying to accomplish, if it’s anything besides just color-matching the bulbs. Quite a few guys...

    Brake Bleed Procedure 2015 Expedition

https://www.motiveproducts.com/products/ford-asian-import-three-prong-bleeder I second the “easy to use” part. Very similar to what I used except for appears to work the other direction. The one I used has the reservoir up at the master cylinder so fluid is pushed through rather than drawn out...

2017 Ecoboost with P051B check engine light

I also can’t find anything 3.5 Ecoboost specific, but seems like the other variations it is the PCV line. Check that and see if there is any sort of electronic module in the line.

    Brake Bleed Procedure 2015 Expedition

I meant the brake pedal is tight and firm. Not even a hint of play or softness like can be felt when you don’t get all the air out. I did my brakes and the bleeding on my own, so the two-person method wouldn’t work for me. The power bleeder allows me to crack open the bleeder valve and just sit...

    EcoBoost Throttle Body Replaced

I haven’t been able to locate just the cap for sale. I think it is an item Delphi developed to allow them to refurb TBs instead of replacing the whole thing. But seeing as how Tasca sells the TB for $111.24, not sure how much you’d actually save anyway knowing the way Ford pricing is. Why are...
