Paint code and color should be found in the VIN number. There are a lot of VIN decoders on line, in fact you should be able to pull an exact copy if the window sticker up and lay all doubts aside as to what is original and what has been added.
To make this problem a bit clearer - every engine these days are computer controlled. From variable valve timing to shift points, emissions, O2 intake, fuel mapping and on and on.
So unlike the old days - jerk the motor, replace it with something close, bigger or smaller and turn the key...
The stock band type (around the rim near the hub.) TPMS units suck. Same issues with my 08, on multiple occasions. So when the time came for new tires (Costco) they replaced the band units with stem type monitors and I have had zero issues in the last four years.
You should find a fuse map on the underside of the fuse cover. If you’re looking for the location of the fuse box - above the radiator in front of the engine. But I’m certain you know that.
Check the fuses first is always great advice as given in a number of reply’s here.
I was surprised at the lack of internal storage on our 2008. To remedy that problem, I bought a large black plastic storage bin with hinged locking (if desired) lid that fits between the second row captain’s chairs. It also serves as a table top for second row passengers and the arm rests still...
Look at the bottom of each door. There are two plastic one-way plugs. On our 2008 they work for s$&t. We took them out.
They are supposed to drain water out of the door. (Turns out the doors aren’t really all that waterproof.) taking these plugs out will take care of a bit of your problem...
Agreed, don’t just check the door drains, take them out completely. Each door has two plastic “plugs” on the bottom side. Remove them and don’t forget the tailgate too.
Check the run out in the hub too. There is a set of washers and a lock ring that can go bad. However, my guess would be a bad sway bar bushing or a bad ball joint. (Top one most likely.
Pesky electronics. Use to be anyone with some mechanical ability could address parts not working. Now even the frigging wipers have to be programmed. Glad you got ‘er done!
We had something similar happen in our 08. Turns out somewhere along the line it forgot it’s programming. It would stop working, then would work, but not the auto up or down. Next day the auto up and down would work but not the manual mode. Was frustrating. Biggest problem was not being able to...
Our 08 mileage is 16.12 combined average over the 8 years we have been tracking our gas purchases. I’d say it sounds like you do a fair bit of stop and go driving.
What you are seeing is aluminum “rust”. Aluminum doesn’t actually rust it oxidizes into a white powder.
My 08 suffers from the same ailment that you have. In fact I address the problem every three or four years or so. My body guy “repairs” the damage by addressing the spots with vigor...
