Yes you can tow that weight, pay attention to your payload.

    Shorter Wheel Base

It depends on the camper maker. for instance I have a KZ Sportsman 301BHSS. The first two numbers are the "box" length, 30'. The second number is how many slides it has, 1 . BH = bunkhouse. SS = Showstopper. My TT is closer to 34' total length hitch to bumper. I pulled this camper with my...

Planning to buy expedition to tow a trailer, suggestion needed

My rig is in the photo. I have a 2018 Max Platinum with tow package. Expeditions are hands down the best towing large SUV. I tow a KZ 301BH bunk house. We have a family of five. I do have the Sumo Springs and love them, an equalizer hitch and love it as well. My TT weighs 6,300 dry. My 30...

    Best Tire option

I now have two camping trips on these tires. ~2,000 mile round trip to Colorado and another ~ 300 mile round trip to Michigan. I maxed out the pressures at 50#, the tires were stable with no issues.

Tuning Andersen WDH + 2019 Expy Max XLT

I had the best luck setting up my WDH by simply measuring the distance to the top of the fenderwell front and back both with, and then without the camper. I continued to tilt the WDH head until the front measurements were closer (I think 1/2") from unloaded. I added Sumos to reduce squat, but...

    Pulls hard right when towing

I had a similar situation the last time I towed my camper. When I was setting up my camper I noticed a crease in my camper umbilical cord. I found that two of the wires were bare and contacting each other. I repaired the cord (taped up the damaged areas) and all the weird messages I was...

    Newbie - learning

Here is a screen shot of the WDH I have. I love it. I took me three tries to get it dialed in correctly, even after the dealer originally set it up.

    Hey everyone! Travel trailer question..

Here is a screen shot of the sumos I bought from etrailer. They remove some of (but not all) of the sag, doesnt really tow a whole lot different IMO. No affect on nontowing commutes/errands. I had some on my '09 so I did not hesitate on the '18. I think they are a great value for the money...

    Hey everyone! Travel trailer question..

2018 Expy Platinum w/HD tow, 3.73 gears. KZ 301BHSS camper, 6,200 UVW. I have an Equalizer hitch and put on XL tires. Recently I added Sumo springs. There is no lack of power as we just got back from Estes Park Colorado and if you can afford the gas there is no problem climbing the grades. I...

Largest GD Trailer 2020 Expy can safely tow long term?

You can tow that camper, just pack light witout water and load up with groceries when you get to your destination.

I personally have an Equalizer WDH and it works well. My Expy is a 2018 (HD tow w/3.73 gears) and I pull a TT that is 6,200# dry, no I have never weighed it ready to tow. In my opinion once getting up to the 6,500 - 7,000# range UVW you will likely max out. My TT tows great even at up to...

    LT Tires and Towing

Frankly on my 09 I did not notice a big difference towing my 7,000#+ camper when I went from extra load tires to LT tires. The original 111-112 load rated tires were terrible, but the extra load 114 tires were a great improvement. I always maxed out pressure at 50# with my extra load tires. My...

Going to tow for the first time in my life. Did I buy everything I need?

I personally feel you do not need a WDH for that light of a camper. I would get an adjustable height draw bar so you can set it to have the trailer level, or a little lower in the front. Make sure of the ball size needed, it may be a 2", but it may be 2 5/16". Get a good plug and play brake...

    Suspension Enhancement

I installed Sumosprings today on my 2018, they worked great on my '09. They do nothing to raise your payload, but do remove some squat. I love them and install in no time.

    AutoZone brakes

I have used their heavy duty kits (pads, rotors, clips, etc.) on my '09 Expy many times and I have never had a problem. I once tried the drilled and slotted rotors, but I didnt realize any advantages to the holes/slots. I tow a 30' camper that is over 7,000# and have been through the smokies...

    Best Tire option

Im not sure yet. They have great reviews, but I wont tow my camper for any distance until July 4th. ~7k from the Chicago area to Colorado. I wlll do a follow up when we get back. I anticipate no issues based on what I have read....

    Towing questions.

That is WAY too much trailer for an Expy. My TT is 6,300# dry weight and I am maxed out to my payload. No Expy will pull a 9,200# camper no matter what the manufacturer says. It's all about payload.
