    p0302 cylinder 2 misfire

I'm guessing the vehicle broke down or ran terrible and you had it towed? Didn't mention a break down in the above. I had similar problems with sputtering and no power on demand. Myself I did COPs and it helped a tad. Then it fell on it's face again and I ended up needing plugs and a fuel...

    Newbie with an 06

I can't speak for 1 or 2 but I've bought trim pieces and was very happy because they were exact matches from Ford. Tasca Parts. Good price and quick shipping. Of course amazon or ebay but I'd prefer genuine ford when I can.

175k miles and becoming the Daily Driver - things to consider?

At this point if your tuned up within 25K miles and you haven't identified any problems or complaints I would go with "if it aint broke don't fix it". I also have a high mileage 06 EB (201K) and with the age and miles I realized there will be problems that will come up any time and anywhere...

    Blacked out

I'm not clowning it because I know some people can work with it but 90% of the populations plasti dip and spray work shows like a sore thumb. And in my opinion these expeditions when clean and taken care of still are somewhat modern looking good rides and deserve to be modified or altered the...

    Blacked out

I have the same as an 06. Things I've thought about were black headlights, tinted tail lights, and 11+ black 20 in f150 fx4 wheels. However, with the eddie bauer lower tan I feel it would never flow. Side from a full black paint job and some nice black wheels I don't know if there's a clean...

    Vacuum line troubles...

looks like the one that connects to the heater control valve..... on the passenger side find the coolant hoses that have a T fitting, follow that up towards the throttle body and you should see a cylinder or canister like thing connected to the hose, there should be a vacuum line connected to...

    Potential new '05 owner

I just picked up an 06 EB in November 200K mile truck. Runs quiet, smooth, and strong. Anything can happen to a 12-13 year old vehicle regardless of miles. From experience I replaced my battery and alternator and found out I didn't need to as the power draw continued. Ended up being the rear...

Check Charging System message & Battery light lit

OP.......Put a direct replacement motorcraft alternator in. Spend the money. The auto part store rebuilds are a problem for these vehicles. Taz-check or replace your fusible link cable that runs from the alternator to the battery. Seems like a faulty alternator or problem getting charge to...

    Charging System

Seems like people including myself are just airing out the problems with the hope of an assist. Real people with real cars equals real problems so emotions such as hello requests are not required. Either assist or skip over the topic. The most minute response could help a stranded motorist...

    Charging system woes

I've read in other forums and threads and I've mentioned this myself I think but to share again there have been many reports of auto stores alternators simply not performing and everyone including myself who switched to a Motorcraft have had their issue cured. I've read about 2 or 3 replacement...

    Charging system woes

Sorry, to clarify some people report the "check charging system" light on with no symptoms. Was just asking if you had actual charging problems otherwise I'd suggest having the code cleared. The reason I used a motorcraft was people reporting even new alternators from local auto stores not...

    Charging system woes

Recently went through this. I started with a battery but it warning light came on after a day. Then I replaced the alternator wiring harness that goes from the alt to the positive battery cable. Then I switched alternators with a Ford Motorcraft which eventually solved the problem. It should...

    Jet performance programmer

I'm not too familiar about JET but on a Ford I have and never would mess with anything side from a SCT handheld with a reputable company handling the tune. Never had any problems using a tune. I'm sure with your situation the PCU had it's issues unrelated to the device but that will probably...

    Waterspot tips?

90% of my vehicles have been black. If you work fast and not let the polish dry you can apply a polishing compound and remove with a buffer. A standard low speed orbital will be fine again if you move properly. Best product I've ever used was Turtle Wax black box for $20. It made what a...

    2006 Expedition "check charging system"

No doubt! I know the feeling of being in a jam and looking for answers. Funny thing is this is the first time I've been in a "cash car" since 2004. Just manipulation of the debt to income ratio while we house hunt. I certainly don't miss car repairs. Hopefully this is about it for a while...

Black Friday Sales Start Early @ 5 Star Tuning!

What sort of rough power gains could I see from a SCT 93 tuner and an Airaid intake in my 3V. Thought about giving it a little pep and figured it would clean up the shifts in the 4 speed likely giving the most life out of my 200K mile 06 trans.

    Jet performance programmer

So you adjusted it for oversized tires and the expedition doesn't run? If so why not just try customer service or see if a local tune shop can get you fixed up.

    2006 Expedition "check charging system"

Thanks guys! Too late on the battery issue as it died on me in autozone so a Duralast it is for now. The alternator wire harness is motorcraft and if it's a new alt I need I requested a motorcraft as the replacement.

    Charging System

My 06 is in the shop for the same thing. I have a new battery and alternator wire harness/fuse link. It runs from the alt to the positive terminal and has been listed as a cause. I have replaced the battery and above wire harness but not the alt yet. FYI I'm having draining issues with mine...

    2006 Expedition "check charging system"

the " check charging system" light is on again. After self diagnostics I replaced the battery and alternator/fuse link cable. At this point, I'm taking it in for service. This thread seems dead side from one response so if I can help anyone in the future I'll continue to post my results.

    2006 Expedition "check charging system"

In case anyone else runs into this issue it seems to be corrected. A new battery did not cure the problem. I added a new alternator wire harness also known as fusible link cable. So far so good for $40 from Tasca parts. I went this route after researching some youtube and forums. I know...
