p0302 cylinder 2 misfire
I'm guessing the vehicle broke down or ran terrible and you had it towed? Didn't mention a break down in the above. I had similar problems with sputtering and no power on demand. Newbie with an 06
I can't speak for 1 or 2 but I've bought trim pieces and was very happy because they were exact matches from Ford. Tasca Parts. Good price and quick shipping. Of course amazon or ebay but I'd prefer genuine ford when I can.- 06 Eddie

175k miles and becoming the Daily Driver - things to consider?
At this point if your tuned up within 25K miles and you haven't identified any problems or complaints I would go with "if it aint broke don't fix it". I also have a high mileage 06 EB (201K) and with the age and miles I realized there will be problems that will come up any time and anywhere...- 06 Eddie

I have the same as an 06. Things I've thought about were black headlights, tinted tail lights, and 11+ black 20 in f150 fx4 wheels. However, with the eddie bauer lower tan I feel it would never flow. looks like the one that connects to the heater control valve..... on the passenger side find the coolant hoses that have a T fitting, follow that up towards the throttle body and you should see a cylinder or canister like thing connected to the hose, there should be a vacuum line connected to...- 06 Eddie

Potential new '05 owner
I just picked up an 06 EB in November 200K mile truck. Runs quiet, smooth, and strong. Anything can happen to a 12-13 year old vehicle regardless of miles. OP.......Put a direct replacement motorcraft alternator in. Spend the money. The auto part store rebuilds are a problem for these vehicles. Sorry, to clarify some people report the "check charging system" light on with no symptoms. Was just asking if you had actual charging problems otherwise I'd suggest having the code cleared. Black Friday Sales Start Early @ 5 Star Tuning!

Thanks guys! Too late on the battery issue as it died on me in autozone so a Duralast it is for now. The alternator wire harness is motorcraft and if it's a new alt I need I requested a motorcraft as the replacement.- 06 Eddie

My 06 is in the shop for the same thing. I have a new battery and alternator wire harness/fuse link. It runs from the alt to the positive terminal and has been listed as a cause. I have replaced the battery and above wire harness but not the alt yet. FYI I'm having draining issues with mine...- 06 Eddie

the " check charging system" light is on again. After self diagnostics I replaced the battery and alternator/fuse link cable. At this point, I'm taking it in for service. This thread seems dead side from one response so if I can help anyone in the future I'll continue to post my results.- 06 Eddie

In case anyone else runs into this issue it seems to be corrected. A new battery did not cure the problem. I added a new alternator wire harness also known as fusible link cable.
