    Grille Guard on ‘22 Expy

Yep, two work associates have had deer run into the side of their cars. One a Tesla and the other a Camry: just body damage, and cars were drivable. If it hits the front, there are a few critical items that can make it non-drivable. While nothing is guaranteed, a big bumper may protect some of...

Finally received my fender flares from Baja Forged

They look really great. Looks like it gives a lifted vehicle with wider/larger tires a factory look.

FordPass app "service history" is flawed

The app should show something like ‘multiple services’ if several things were done. That’s if you do it from the app. I don’t know how the service department enters the information [software]. It might be that it only reports one thing because software is crap these days? I usually make an...

    Grille Guard on ‘22 Expy

That looks fricking awesome! Did you do it yourself or have it done? What are the specs on the bumper? Looks like Baja lights or a similar design?

grinding noise and rough ride only when in 4A

Indeed. Manufacturers often indicate the actual diameter of their tires along with the spec.

2018 Ford Expedition Platinum Transmission Oil Level

That's the older generation, it looks like. What is the relationship with the current gen?

    An honest suggestion for Ford

I think that ship has sailed. The fact that 'security updates' in software is on a schedule indicates that most companies haven't hired real programmers in years. They will be all running Python by the end of next year.

    ALLA LED headlights issue

That is a bulb I had thought of going with if the LEDs didn’t work out in the projectors. Just treat it as a consumable, which I think, even high output LEDs are. Even factory LEDs fail for one reason or another (albeit at a potentially lower rate), but you have to open your wallet to fix them.

    ALLA LED headlights issue

The quality of the eastern ‘brands’ tends to rise and fall with the tides. Just get another set. I had a switchback turn signal fail, just purchased another set, different brand, and went on with life. The headlights, beams and fogs have been fine for the past 3 years or so. I believea mix of...

Ford to Eliminate Parallel Parking Assist options

It's a vicious circle. If we stopped continuing work on something because its a 'useless feature' or 'little used' we would have none of the cool features in life. But how do they know people aren't using it? I've not used that feature on the vehicle I have it on, simply because I have not...

2018 expedition headlight assembly ballast replacement

LDM: looks like LED Driver Module, and as someone said in this thread, a hold-over on naming it a 'ballast' (car manufacturers are notorious for not naming things what the are). A voltage stabilized 15V. I think it's a smart idea to have that external to the LEDs in the headlight. Hopefully this...

New TSB for CDF drum, 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT

Are they holding 10klbs of weight and capable of 400 plus lbs of torque through the transmission? Different design. Every truck I’ve had (albeit not many) has this ‘Issue’. Cars, generally not so much.

Ford got rid of radiator upgrade option from HD Trailer Tow Package since model year 2022

So, if you do not get the HD tow, what radiator do you get? The 26mm is an option, so what’s different? What does 26mm even mean?

    Oil Change Interval in Winter

Just use common sense. Colder weather is harsher starts; change it ‘more often’. Since people are all over the place on when to change oil in these vehicles, it’s really up to you. I use the oil life monitor as a gauge for oil ‘wear’ (whatever that means), but aim for 4 to 7k. If the oil life...

USB ports next to phone charger not working

I had a problem with mine when the spouse plugged in a e-cig charging cable: both ports stopped working. I removed it, to get a part number off it, assuming it had 'blown'. Plugged it back in, and it started working.

How many owners out there with no major issues?

I have thought about trading mine, with minimal issues (leaking shocks), but keep coming back to the only vehicle I'd trade it for is another Expedition MAX (which offers no advantage over the one I have!)

    Snow Beast

Tires make all the difference, though: including braking. I'm pleased with my upgraded Hankook tires with the 3PMSF rated tires.

Ford got rid of radiator upgrade option from HD Trailer Tow Package since model year 2022

So, of the '26mm radiator' is an option, I would have thought that was equivalent to the 'heavy duty' if there are 2 part numbers for radiators. Just different terminology? Or or we supposed to infer that not selecting the HD tow, the radiator is the same as without? Or, are there actually 3...

    2019 MAX Oil Burning issue?

I think this thread is a good example of why you should monitor/check all the fluid levels in any car on a regular basis. Even, and especially, if you do not do the changes yourself.

    Coolant tank cap

Nope. No matter how much force to push down, there isn't another 'catch' to overcome after the first 3/4 turn, just the initial catch. It does not want to come out.

    Coolant tank cap

While my coolant level is at an acceptable level and don't need to do anything with it, I acquired a coolant tester for another 'project' and was going to test it (to see if the tester really says anything). however, I cannot get the cap to come off. It turns around 3/4 of a turn and won't go...

    2022 Timberline Vibration When Towing

I (XLT MAX) have this vibration occasionally when towing a very light trailer. I have a single axle utility trailer, and depending on where the load is in the trailer it vibrates, typically, when accelerating. I added sumosprings (rubber donuts which fit in the rear suspension coils) and it...

    Cabin air filter

Once you know how to change it, it's almost trivial. It's the same location on my other vehicles (except the motorcycle...) and just as easy. I have a 08 CRV and again, easy to access and change. The filter literally weighed 1lb when I took it out, it was a sold mass of 15 years of debris.

Has anyone experienced a rattle at the catalytic converters?

I have a rattle on cold startup which sounds exactly like you are describing, directly under the vehicle. However, it goes away after around 30 seconds of idling, and not present when engine is warm. Definitely not the engine, definitely not the turbos.
