My 2014 Navigator developed a pulsating pedal at about 45,000 miles, so I replaced the front rotors & pads.
Been fine ever since.
Good rotors are cheap at Rock Auto and it’s a simple DYI job.
If I don’t keep them on a tender, my Mustangs will drain their battery in about 2-3 weeks.
All the symptoms noted by the OP are exactly how the car is telling you the battery is weak and needs to be charged or replaced before it leaves you stranded.
Speaking as a GT500 owner, a catch can should be mandatory on super or turbo charged engines:
1. You certainly don’t want that crud sucked back into the intake manifold. It will make a gummy mess. Eventually will gum up an intercooler.
2. That stuff lowers the effective octane rating...
My service guy says that most 3rd party plans are OK. But they generally have an hourly rate cap. And you get to pay the difference. For a big job, that can be expensive. I just stick with Ford’s ESP.
There are a few idler pulleys and the bearings eventually wear out. Then they chirp as they wobble and contact something.
Recommend you buy a replacement set and a new belt. It’s an easy fix:
Loosen the belt tensioner, remove the belt, replace all the idler pulleys (one bolt each). Then route...
One of the quirks of the tracking system is that the VIN has to be tied to a “Special Order.” If it’s a “stock”order, it tends not to show up.
I had this issue and when the dealer changed it to a “Special Order”, it showed up in the tracker right away.
As y’all have discovered, RockAuto is a software application. They do not have any warehouses or staff. There is no one to talk to.
You place an order online and the app sends the order to the closest warehouse that has the item in stock, who ships it to you. I have received many parts I...
Turn your headlights off and see if they are brighter. If so, something on your dash is blocking the sun sensor and the vehicle thinks it’s dark outside and activated the headlights.
The K&N set up works great. I have them on all 5 of my vehicles. That’s not the problem. However, if you over-oiled the filter and some of it got on that sensor, it can cause problems. So cleaning it is a good idea.
But like others said, sounds like an ignition problem.

This happened to my son’s 2016 Espy. The rear seal of the master cylinder leaked and the vacuum booster literally sucked all the brake fluid out of the the reservoir.
I replaced the master cylinder & brake booster...
I have this on my wife’s ‘19 Nautilus. Works great.
Have to set it up and activate cruse control. If you get a green steering wheel, it takes over speed, spacing and lane centering. Works all the way to a stop and takes off when the vehicle in front moves again. Have to touch the steering wheel...
I had not heard of the Project Farm guy. So I looked up his video:
Interesting test. Not perfectly scientific, but pretty fair. His results show:
1. The K&N filter was considerably better than all others tested in performance: Less pressure drop, higher flow and fastest 0-60 time on the...
I have K&N filters in all 5 of my vehicles and have used them for many decades. They work great and I have never had a problem with them. They clean the air better and allow a few more HP.
Like someone said, if you put too much oil on them, it can get to your MAF sensor and mess with it...
3-4 year old car battery? Sounds like the battery in engine compartment, not the fob.
Take it to any auto parts place and they can do a quick stress test.
I’ve been driving Ford’s for over 50 years and never bought or needed an extended warranty.
My ‘14 Navigator has only been in the shop once, at 50K miles, for new tires.
That said, new vehicles are very complex and things get expensive real quick. So for my ‘16 GT350 and new GT500, I bought the...
