Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic 5w30
It's what my shop stocks, it's reasonable and I actually met with one of the engineers that worked on the Liquid Titanium anti wear additive(for 5 years) that is in the new formula and it's no gimmick.
My shop does 350 oil changes a month with Kendall...
The flowmaster is a chambered muffler and will drone all the time to some extent. The Magnaflow has a straight through design and will only drone under heavy load and not so much cruising. Rear seat passengers will appreciate the Magnaflow more :D
I managed an exhaust shop for a few years...
Noticed a shimmy after going over big bumps with my 35" tires on the Expy. After calling a few of my suppliers I found that Moog made a retro-fit damper kit for these trucks. I installed it today and even though I currently have my stock wheels and tires on for a trip this weekend, I can tell a...
Look and listen for any vacuum leaks.
Remove the idle air control valve (motor) and clean it with carb/choke cleaner and let it air dry. If that doesn't work, you'll need to replace it. You'll need to reset the KAM (keep alive memory) after any of these steps so the adaptive learning in the...
I had mine on a lift and after cutting the wire the front tires would still spin in the air. However, they don't pull on the ground because the rear tires will now spin on wet pavement with no reaction from the front tires, just like a 2wd truck.
4Hi and 4Lo work normally.
Ok, just clipped the light brown wire going to the top of the transfer case, backed the rear of the truck in water and spun the 35's sitting still.
I don't care if a4wd works again so I just capped both ends of the cut wire.
4hi and 4lo still work normally.
I want the ability to disable it for a reason not mentioned.
Say I'm out on the road and one of these 35" tires goes flat or blows out....
I will only have a 265/70/17 spare to put on and the drivetrain will be pissed and/or damaged running the 1 smaller diameter tire no?
Years ago I had a cab-plus Mazda p/u with 4-12's in a box that filled the rear cab. Now that I'm older and like to take people with me on trips, I wanted something a lot more functional.
Just built this box that houses 4-8-ohm 10's and allows me to still seat 8.
The system consists of...
The running boards used to be silver, but the were in bad shape. I took them apart, cut out all the rust, filled in the bad places and sprayed them with truck bed liner. They have held up very well so far.
Bingo. Adaptive learning needs to be reset even after cleaning the MAF
I don't remember the exact procedure, but I always remove both clamps from the battery posts and hold them together for a minute and let it sit unhooked for 15 min or so.
That looks awesome!
I actually test drove a silver '05 that had 22" Rockstars and Dune Grappler tires that looked badass. Unfortunately the truck was a rag, so I'm keeping mine that's paid for ;)
The next money you spend should be on ball joints! If they come apart, the wheel wont be vertical anymore and you'll be lucky to survive the rollover accident
Hate to be dramatic, but I run a repair shop and have seen the aftermath of ball joints and hub assemblies when they come apart...
I trimmed about 1" from the bottom of the fender flare and lower valance in the front at an angle. I run a tire shop so I'm experienced with a cutoff wheel, even with chrome bumpers lol
