Check all of your brake lights to be sure they are operational- even the ones over the back glass. Also check your trailer plug to make sure none of the wires are worn & 'shorting' out.
If all of those things are OK, then you likely have a wiring problem to that non-functional light.
You need to make sure that any fluid you use is "Mercon V" compatible. At this time, the standard Mobil1 fluid is not. Mobil does offer a Mercon V Synthetic 'blend'.
No telling who supplies Ford with the factory fill. They probably buy from whoever has the best price on the fluid that...
It's an AODEW/4R75. Should be listed on your window sticker- if you got it when you purchased the vehicle.
Unfortunately, there's very little information on this "new for '04" tranny. Probably just a slightly stronger version of the older 4R70W.

Yup Ken- there's no escaping me! :D
I remember you mentioning an Expy site some time ago. Did a little "googling" and found this place. Been lurking a couple of weeks as I didn't really have anything to add- until today.

I purchased my 303 from camping world...
Have you tried "303 Aerospace Protectant"? It isn't cheap nor is it real easy to find, but so far, it seems to be working well on all of the plastic of our '04.
