Default How to de-badge?

hey guys, quick question. how to debadge a 2000 eddie bauer?

based off of my research, goo-gone, blow dryer, and some thread...

but i'm not even completely sure it's held on by adhesive and not bolted on?

anyone with the same vehicle know? or if all expy's are the same? not so sure...

fender emblems leave holes in the fender so unless you can do body work you will have holes... I believe the rear hatch is the same but I'm not 100%

few more questions for you walnuts, what brand are your headlights and tail lights, nerf bar, and where did you get the deflector for the rear window?

yes, rear liftgate badge will leave holes as well. for the nerf bars and deflector, you can find that stuff on ebay, or just google and pick a website. his looks like a westin nerf bar. as for lights, they are R8 lights, you can find his thread in the show and tell forum under lights i think.

lol, i know where to find them. i usually shop from JCwhitney so i was wondering what kind it was. i will search for westin. from what i know they're pretty reliable, my friend has a bull bar from them.

and thanks, the lights look awesome! R8 is that for the head lights and tail lights? i can't find one of those rear deflectors anywhere though lol

btw...these are the lights I am looking at getting. Think if they are white they are legal which is why I am going with these:

lol no problem man you're good. yeah i'd like to know about the deflector and the tail lights, they both look awesome, especially with the color of the car. mine is the burgandy/mahogony color. doesn't really look good unless it's waxed.

i dont like the 97-98 grill. it dents in right in the middle. rubbs against my lights. when i start putting money in my truck im going to get a new grill. and put the lights on the bumper im going to make. i would much rather have the 99-02 grill. a nicer grill. or get a billet.

here is a style of deflector that you might like:

Lund Rear Window Deflectors from andysautosport.com.
you can also try GTO or EGR

what's your opinion on the visors for the top of the windshield? oh and do you think i could fit 37's on an 18 inch rim with a 3 inch lift?

if its just a 3" lift, no. you would have to do LOTS of trimming to make them fit. biggest you could probably fit with a 3" would be 35's and you would still get a little bit of rubbing. how wide is the rim? i have 18x9 with 35's and i dont rub, but i have 4" lift. as for visors over windshield, sometimes they look good. sometimes they dont. a member (dgray) has one on his truck...take a look in the show and tell threads and you will see it in the lets see your rides section, and in his sig.

the rim would either be 18x9 or 18x8, the 18x9 i was looking at was only 15 bucks more expensive so why not go with that, how about a 4 inch lift, 37's, 18x9" rim, and wheel spacers?

even with 4", you are still going to have to do a lot of trimming. there is a guy on virtualford.org named thermo. talk to him. he has our generation expy and he has the 4" lift with 37's. and he will tell you, lots of trimming involved. if you want 37's, plan on at least 4" + 3". that is what im going with. that is pretty much the minimum you are going to need.

i dont like fiberglass because they have a tendency to "spiderweb" in only a few years... well the ones that have come into my buddies body shop and want them repainted... the fiberglass doesn't do too well with changes in weather..... my .02... I'll keep my eyes open on ebay for other good deals and post them if I find anything... i'm almost out of ideas so looking to buy a boat... and put 4.88s on hold... but my edge programmer gave my truck a whole new life were really don't feel like I need gears anytime soon but i will get them someday...

fiberglass dose have a problem with severe weather changes. but i have a buddy who has a ranger with a 1 piece fiberglass clip. hood and fenders. hes to lazy to get it painted. has money just lazy. anyways. has it on for about a year now i think. ruffly. nothing wrong with it. it has gotten sand blasted in the desert. but still fine. no spider webbing or anything. so nvy you might be fine with fiberglass here in SD. but if the navy moves you to somewhere it goes hot cold hot cold like NY it probably would happen.

and if you had my jeep thing it would hurt more than when you just pee, lol dam thing has given me a pain right in my a$$, and is now the reason she wont let me get any thing cool for expy, brake booster went out, tore the pipe out from under it, really bad day, drinking and playing in the woods down back, wasnt such a great idea, not only did i get beer muscles but so did jeep, im a bad influence, that log didnt look so big till i sobered up and looked, maybe if jeep sits in shop long enough she will forget i have it and let me get a programmer and a cowl hood. like the big brother, lol, also years ago i killed barbi. blew her up with fire works so im not to worried, lmao, it takes 11 bottle rockets tied together to make her fly, my sister never did find her hollywood barbi after that, then we blew up her vette, and told my sister if she ever told on my we would do her ginny pig next, i was sooooooo evil
