1997 Expy XLT.
Keep blowing the #30 30 amp fuse on Key on. Might be
the radio noise capacitor that supposedly is on the positive
side of the coils. I've read that they go bad and cause the
fuse to blow repeatedly.
I've done some searching and can't find a picture of what
it looks like and the exact position.

Can anyone help?

Just for reference the #30 fuse on a 97 XLT is for the
radio noise capacitor, coils, and PCM.

The capacitor is usually located close to the coil pack and possibly mounted to the coil pack support with a small screw. If you think it's bad you should be able to get one from a local parts store. They're only a couple of bucks or so. Couldnt find any pics either.

So I found them. On a 1997 4.6 they are on the outer side
of each coil. They can easily be seen as they have a grey disconnect
and single wire. My left side (driver side) capacitor was cracked
badly. I will take pictures today and post so that it can be used
for future reference seeing as No-Data didn't even have mention
of it. :D

So I was finally able to get the pics off of my camera. Couldn't find the cable.
This is the drivers side coil. You can see the radio noise capacitor with a crack on it and the gray connector that I disconnected. This is a bad design because the #30 fuse which is a 30 amp is responsible for the coils, radio noise capacitor and more important, the ECM which controls everything. Bad capacitor blows the fuse and Expy no start.

This thread helped me so much... I had shorts and all these PCM related codes in my 2007 Expy. I replaced the Fuse #72 and saw I had a loose radio noise capacitor. Fixed and now things are smooth
