Did you unbolt the hub?

If not, do that, then try and remove the hub, get the hub to slide out about a 1/4", then try the socket and hammer, see if the cv shaft moves.

This will relieve any binding in the cv joint, or lack of slack in other words.

Isn't this a rear bearing?

Had same problem when a rear bearing on my 06 failed; welded itself to the half shaft. Replaced them both. Tried to separate with a 12 ton press. It failed. I suppose I could have used a longer lever on the press pump but was afraid of blowing the seals in the press.

Ended up replacing the rear knuckle (salvage), bearing (new), and half shaft (reman).

Cost me $75 for knuckle, control arms and half shaft (which I used for core). Old knuckle bearing and half shaft in scrap.
