The transmission went out in my 2000 Expedition. I am getting ready to pull one from a donor vehicle. Other than the year, what do I need to watch for? Meaning, what determines I have transmission X and cannot put in transmission Z? Does the engine size matter? 4.6 vs. 5.4? Year of vehicle? etc... I just want to make sure I am getting a transmission that will interchange and work in my vehicle.
