Guy on Ford Truck Enthusiasts, I believe it’s a 2010.

He had 16 gauge custom bent by removing a piece and told the shop to bend it to match a measurement in length.

I’m thinking if the second gen guys get back to me in their section that I’ll order 06 panels and take it to my body shop and walk it over with them to see if they can make it work.... if I spend this money I’m keeping this truck for the long haul, I’ll have the panels fixed along with new running board mounts.

Felt the first sting of many stings to come this morning..... ordered both sides for $305..... that’s not anything compared to what my body shop is charging me to do the deed... shame these trucks lose these when they are so young.... the body shop even said the truck is just not old enough to be having this issue. You don’t see 07 Tahoes rolling around with rusty rockers.

I have an 07 and just the other day I was getting back from lunch at work and when my buddies got out and shut the doors apparently shutting all 4 doors was enough force to make both rockers fall apart and land on the running boards, now it look like the 2010 one above. Sucks, I take such good care of this car I've had it since it was new. Now I'm debating trading it in and taking the loss for the rust or fixing it and keeping it for a long time after putting the money in to fix it. There's no other rust and it perfectly fine mechanically! so aggravating, i went thorough the same thing with my 04 F250 had the bed repaired and after dropping all that cash on it I'll never get rid of it lol.

My panels arrived today, not light like I expected, the body shop said this is the way to go because they are thick unlike slip ons. I purchased a set of OEM 2006 Expedition Rocker Panels. There are a few minor differences but overall they seem the same as the 3rd gen, hopefully nothing they can’t persuade to work.

My truck looks great as well other than the rocker panels, They’ve been known for rocker issues. Not sure if it was cheap contaminated steel or design. I’m hoping these new ones I purchased are of good quality steel. As you can see I’m already on track to keep mine.

You have a link so I can get more detail on how he did this repair?
