i bought one on amazon that attaches behind the second row seats, it has a breakdown steel frame with a super durable mesh, we fold down the third row and they have tons of room.
two straps under the head rests and two on the lower half of seats. the picture on amazon is of the other model,

i have two large powerful dogs
i did use swim noodle across the top to prevent ceiling fabric damage
we lay a large pet seat protector across the load floor, then vacuum accordingly after each trip

To me, it is really tough to "pet-proof" a car or truck. At best you'll only be left with the smell. I watched my sweetheart go through that with her last truck and her new one.....and she has two tiny dogs.
