AC Compressor is making an intermittent rattle noise?

My A/C compressor is making an intermittent rattle noise like a bad bearing sound. Can that bearing be replaced without replacing the whole compressor? The A/C still blows cold.

No on replacing the bearings.

Rattling noise is bad. It usually indicates internal compressor damage in its early form. Eventually it will fail.
