Thanks to all of you for responding. I had two estimates from shops that are well reviewed and ones I have used before successfully, and the prices were nearly the same. On the condenser issue, I will go with the shop that said they would check it before they replaced it to see if they could clean it and reuse it. For all the parts, this one will use Ford Parts, the other one uses parts that I believe are made by AC Delco, although I'm not sure. It could be a large AC Delco wholesaler that the shop uses.
Anyway I will go with the Ford parts and the more selective repair. Thanks for all the advice, discussion, and wisdom. I really do appreciate it. Don't want to spend $2100 but need A/C and don't want to buy a new car right now.
