It was the DPFE sensor after all. A quick replacement of the DPFE and the P0401 code cleared. I now have a P1131 code for lack of H02S-11 switch, indicates lean. I suspect the air intake gasket on the TB may have been damaged or the DPFE hoses require re-sealing around the ports off the EGR exhaust line. With this code just coming up, it makes sense its a vacuum leak that is making the O2 sensor code lean.

hi expo lovers!

i installed an open K&N air intake in my 02 expo. after 2 days...SERVICE ENGINE SOON light came on. if i remember right: P0401 EGR FLOW INSUFFICIENT.

Autozone told me "clean the egr valve" one mechanic told me its a pain in the ass to do and don't do it?!

any solutions, what i should do?

thanks

I have read that changing EGR backpressure transducer can solve the problem, once after replacing the EGR, clear the check engine light.
