how are the front and rear ford emblems removed for 2016s? Going with black and chrome 9” and 7” emblems instead of the blue

Most emblems are affixed using 3M-type tape adhesive. Don't know about the blue ovals. I used a heat gun on the rear ecoboost emblem to remove it and substitute a chromed "3.5 twin turbo" emblem. The heat gun works well.

A heat gun will remove the Blue oval, Ecoboost or flex fuel, badges off the tailgate. The fender badges may have alignment holes.

From @mossback post above here is a review of what I had to do to remove front emblem

here are some images of the front emblem removal. I was able to find the theee tabs behind the emblem and remove them without removing the plastic cover under the hood. Tight squeeze but I got it through the grill gaps with just my hands. Here’s a pic of the three tabs and the whole assembly offView attachment 23343 View attachment 23342next you will need to remove the two nuts on the screw posts pictured hereView attachment 23344as he stated, twist the posts that you just removed the nuts off of and will look like this

I just drilled out the area holding the posts in. Was easy to do with a small drill bit.
