evap. problems in '99 5.4?

the gas tank is collapsing in. could there be a stuck or bad valve somewhere not allowing to vent? i have tried different gas caps. thanks ahead for input.

I didn't think it would cause enough vacume to collapse a tank. I've never seen my fuel sender but ones I've seen on two stroke engine's tank they have a breather on it which theoretically could be clogged.

you can see it caving in from the bottom, if i take the gas cap off it will level back out

I think that the canister is located on the drivers's side frame rail, next to the spare tire. It is a round canister that is just over a foot long. THere is a vent solenoid located on it. Is your truck setting a check engine light?

Hmmmm there is a valve that puts vacuum into the evap system. if it malfunctions it could collapse the tank. Is your tank plastic?
