Indeed. The transmission in the new Mustang/F-150/Expedition was developed by a team from GM and Ford. They swap parts all the time.
Also, it’s possible GM is the source for some Ford parts, GM manufactures more of their own parts than Ford does. I don’t have much knowledge about that.
