My wife drives an '03 Expy (4.6l 2WD, 4R70W Trans). I just installed a new Idle Air Control Valve, and I seem to have fixed one problem and developed another. After doing a little work on the PCV vac hose this morning, I have the "resting idle" nice and smooth at 900rpm. However, as soon as I shift into Drive or Reverse, the idle jumps to about 1200rpm. It's enough revs for the car to try and "pull away from you". This "push" makes for a rough downshift when you are coming to a stop, and you really have to stand on the brakes at stop to keep it from "running away". Soon as I shift back into N or P, idle immediately returns to 900.
