The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), or gross vehicle mass (GVM) is the maximum operating weight/mass of a vehicle as specified by the manufacturer including the vehicle's chassis, body, engine, engine fluids, fuel, accessories, driver, passengers and cargo but excluding that of any trailers.
Its the total weight of the expedition plus any cargo passengers etc.
However it does not include the weight of a trailer
What does this mean?
A 7760#payload package or 7760#GVWR package minus the base weight of the expy lets say is 6000# that would give you a payload of 1660 lbs. that is the amount of cargo the exply can handle Now add a class 4 hitch 100 lbs and a TT that has a tongue weight of 950 lbs and you have just reduced your payload to 610 lbs now add 5 passengers at 150 lbs each total 750 lbs which means you are now over you max of 7760 by 140 lbs which means someone has to miss the trip
